Re: Behringer 2600
Update: Synth designer Rob Keeble (AM Synths, Behringer) says that the changes in the two new Behringer 2600s “are to improve the sound quality in the filters, which align further to the original ARP design and vision, and to include a reverb tank.” Taken from: https://www.synthtopia.com/content/20...

Re: Ideas for manipulation of VCOs without 1v/oct
The Boss SL-20 pedal might be of interest. It's a slicer, creating rhythmic gate patterns out of any audio source. It also does this melodically, slicing up any audio source rhythmically while also pitching the slices. You're just trying to indulge my GAS further. :D Looks cool though, I'll check i...

Re: BIA analog alternatives?
Thanks everyone- I appreciate the suggestions! I’m sure I’ll end up finding something great from this list and eager to find more sweet spots with the modules I have. I’d also love to hear of some percussive patches you all have made using building blocks instead of a dedicated drum voice. Definite...

I "like" the graphics. Gives it character.
And I see it as sort of dark gray-ish?

Cool! I'm interested. Rather retro looking, though. Like something from Jeskola Buzz. :D https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/58c709192e69cf2422026fa6/1611183993469-OZ4KDPQ02JIPBG71SPBO/ke17ZwdGBToddI8pDm48kBO68ikIFicC-o6C1iZlzsRZw-zPPgdn4jUwVcJE1ZvWQUxwkmyExglNqGp0IvTJZUJFbgE-7XRK3dMEBRBhU...

Re: BIA analog alternatives?
SSF Entity Percussion is an analog module that gives you a huge amount of flexibility. It's not a BIA, but nothing else really is. The manual for the Basimilus does diagram out the voice structure. Maybe you can get some patch ideas from that using what ever oscillators and wavefolders you have. Ye...

Re: BIA analog alternatives?
BIA has several modes, as you know, which is always tough/expensive to replicate in the analog realm. I don't know of anything with the same kind of topology but there are many really cool, analog drum voices in eurorack. The SSF Entity series, for instance.

Re: Behringer 2600
The demo guy says that the blue and gray one has "carefully selected components to improve performance", yeah? That's not saying that it's a redesign, is it? Not to me, anyway. I'd guess that they've added some extra component tests or, even more likely, raised the bar a bit for acceptable levels in...

Development! I really like the A-155, way more than I expected. I hope the switches can take some abuse because I'll use them a million times in 2021. Simple stuff like switching between different envelopes is so much fun. :sb: https://www.modulargrid.net/e/racks/image/1444296.jpg https://www.modula...

Re: UFX1604 equivalent
I looked at the Presonus but it appears to only record the 2 channel master. That is fine but I like the idea of of being able to run the raw trax to my DAW as raw material. Presonus StudioLive AR16 USB records all channels separately. It lacks some of the functions from the UFX1604 but works rathe...

Mine tracks pitch well. I'm not equipped with the best ears but I'm musically trained and I haven't thought about any tracking issues at all.

Re: Any sequencers that allow you to send cv and control individual notes in the sequence?
Doepfer A-155 has inputs for each step of the bottom row. However, when patching anything into those inputs you replace the signal and the knob for that step starts acting as an attenuator, so you are not really controlling the A-155 step as much as the A-155 is used as a sequental switch.

If you leave the "knobs"/shafts in a position it'll play the same sequence, yes.

Re: Happy Nerding MMM VCF
The classic Moog ladder filter isn't that interesting to be and I dislike the fact that the resonance kills the general volume of what's thrown at it but Happy Nerding is such a cool maker and the MMM looks really feature paced and competent that I couldn't resist when I found one at a nice price.

A quarter of the size and a third off the price? That’s some improvement! And I just ordered one! The type of module that I hope I'll love but it's hard to tell based on the demos I've found. It was the same with the Synthrotek DIRT Filter. I love the DIRT filter and hopefully I'll love the Bad Com...

I don't know how I'd use them though. :despair: For me person...

Joranalogue Filter 8. And it's an 8 output resonant filter. Boom. Very interested in the Joranalogue Filter 8, but I'm not sure how I would use that in this particular application. Could you explain a bit? Thanks! If you switch to "low" on the front panel and crank up the resonance it turns into a ...

Got mine. Very nice sound, loads of bottom end. I like the waveform mixing, it tracks rather well. Using the octave switch I noticed a drop of around ten cents from the lowest octave to the highest. Perhaps it wasn't warm enough though, I'll check again. The sync input has less effect than I'd expec...

Re: Neutron The New Behringer Semi-Modular Synthesizer
Which modules are deemed absolutely essential to go with the Neutron? Would like to add a tiny box to it and treat it as a stand alone voice (externally sequenced). Good question. I have a big case to go with it but I don't know if I'd say that any addition is essential; it's a great voice on its o...

The matrix mixer is cool, about the same as the Harvestman one, but the NLC CLUMP is so much more...CV! Yeah, no doubt. But the Clump would probably be wasted on me. The Matrix Mixer is just perfect; simply attenuverting signals and mixing them is something I can get my head around. There's a...
