Re: what is the most exotic/bizarre sounding module you own

Harvestman Tyme Sefari mk1: It's like a cross between a circuit bent casio sk1 and a choir of demons.

Harvestman Piston Honda mk1: The sweetest sounding aliasing I've ever heard anywhere.

Metasonix RK3: Remember those choir of demons from the TS mk1? This houses the ones too evil for that.

Re: Drum machine recommendations for OT

TR-8 or TR-8s.

Either one can be had fairly cheep on the used market and they not only sound fantastic but are easily the most fun I've had programming drums.

Re: Behringer: practices, ethics, morals and legitimacy.

Don't want to wade into a discussion that seems to sometimes go into almost political proportions but a rare thought hit me while I was looking at the 2600 clone for the first time. I won't buy any of these because I'm just not comfortable with the level of copying, and that's not really part of th...

Re: Looking for a new stereo filter module.

Bionic Lester mk3 is amazing. Yes it's digital, but it sounds incredible and the comb filter mode is worth the price of entry alone. Plus you can run it either as a stereo filter, or 2 mono filters in series.

Re: The modules that should exist (but don't)

LFO module with the following. 1 control knob over continuously variable wave shape for all outputs. 1 CV input for control over the wave shape with attenuator. 1 CV input for tempo sync. 6 outputs. 1 3-way switch that selects between phase offset (60 degrees) or 2 tempo offsets (divide each success...

Re: Kermit mk III - coming soon

frick yeah fine tuuuunnee, had my fingers crossed for that. Same. Everything on the mkIII looks amazing, and I'm especially excited for envelope mode. The ZC combined with the code scan oscillator mode would make some seriously deranged chiptune. That's a compliment btw, I can't wait to throw that ...

Re: Moog Grandmother

Would like some clarification on this.

Since the GM has a CV Clock In and a MIDI out, is it possible to sync the GM to a modular clock and then that clock gets forwarded to a midi device that's slaved to the GM?

If I can list modules that weren't released in 2019, Silton Hammer mkII. Just makes everything in my case play nice with each other better than the other sequencer options I kept trying to make work. If I have to pick a module released in 2019, it's honestly a tossup between the Hertz Donut mkIII, B...

I found it great for something that would generate completely random sequences, the issue was that I've never liked random sequences that I had very little control over and so sold it. Was going to get a Bloom to replace it but found a great deal on a SH mk2 so picked that up instead.

Use more mixers. Injecting some other sound sources to mix with your wavetable primary source at semi-regular intervals (so VCA/Mixer combo) can really bring new life to things in your system. Replacing your wavetable (or any of your 4 oscillators in your system) with an A-135-1/Frames/Mutamix/530/P...

If you have a 16 step sequence and on step 5 have 3 step repeats, your sequence now effectively have 19 steps. I like to use this function to include long silence between gates. As I add some repetition to steps with no gates or trigs. I do wish there could be more than 8 step repetition. A...

Space saving 4 stage enelope w/vca w/lpg is just too hot not to trot. I bet his hang up is probably execution of controls. He seems to put a lot of thought into layout. I just want it. Wires can and will go everywhere. I think Scott just has a lot of irons in the fire, and is focusing on finishing ...

Probably a dumb question but does step repeat add steps to the sequence or does it keep track of the number of repeats and then jump to the next step in the sequence. Basically, if I have a 16 step sequence and on step 5 have 3 step repeats, does my sequence now effectively have 19 steps or does it ...

I'm curious about the speed input and how hard it would be to quantize it to 1/2 and x2 speed recording and playback, or if it is quantized to v/oct.

I love my rk2. I haven't tried any other tube-based VCA other than Metasonix but can say Eric's work (metasonix) is captivating and special. Buchla of our time. Completely agree. The lovechild of a Bin Seq and RCD that you can also set how many steps you want it to be. I'm imagining it would be 6hp to handle the rotation jack and step count control, but it would be a good mk2 of the Bin Seq.
