Oh cool, I bought your pack last week 8-) While you're here I have a couple of questions... First, what guides you in choosing one algorithm over another? Do you have general guidelines like "Algorithm X is better for really chaotic stuff," or is it more a matter of just trying them all? Second, do...

Now that the "honeymoon phase" is over, I'm feeling...like I love the Digitone even more. I have rarely turned on any other box since getting the 'Tone.

I've already done two soundpacks and there's no sign of stopping. New, weird sounds, everyday.

These look like some great projects.

Hey: How important is it to match transisor-pairs in this day and age? I've found that tolerances are usually quite close in trannies if you get a reel of them. What are some of the symptoms of not so well-matched transistors?

May as well jump on this train... Wasn't sure which module to get, the M-215 or the M-216. The guy threw in both chips for a nominal charge, so now I have the best of both worlds. I just swap them out for the right job: M-215 for Machinedrum, etc; M-216 for Analog Rytm. The module came in a week or ...

seems like a versatile module. how can i load own wavetables into the module? in which format? No, not without some programming hardware. Having delved deeply into the process with the DIY version (read here: http://synth.glitched.org/), I've come to the conclusion that it's not really worth it in ...

So, I have a Machinedrum and an Analog Rytm: Which trig/gate-to-MIDI unit should I get? M-215 or M-216?
Seems 215 will work for MD, 216 for AR :hmm:

I don't mean when changing FX--when I press "SEL," the type of effect is indicated in binary, as usual. What I mean is, when not in SEL mode, when you press any of the 3 effect-enable buttons below the 3 wave-selectors, do they enable/disable the LED, normally? The retail version does this, but I co...

What I mean is, when you hit the button right below the wave selector knobs, do they light up to indicate that the effect is enabled on that wave-channel? Maybe I'm crazy. I've been using the retail Orgone for a while and just put the DIY version back in action. I couldn't remember if the DIY orgone...

My Orgone DIY's A, B, and C "effect enable" LEDs don't light up anymore. The buttons function fine and flash upon boot-up, but they don't indicate the FX enable status. The LEDs work just fine in other modes (to indicate what FX mode is enabled, for instance.) How can I test this? I guess the button...

The main thing is to use your ears. Concentrate on the content! A crap tune will always be crap. The basics? Keep the individual channels low and make sure the master mix isn't clipping. There are no magical mixer settings. Extensive calibration is usually not necessary to get a decent result. Those...

Reporting back after the declick changes: I couldn't notice much of a difference (thankfully). My favorite effect, delay at high-feedback, seemed a little less wild, but it might just be my settings and/or imagination.

Don't do it, man! The A4's oscs do have something "going on," but do they really sound "bad" to you? They're certainly not mathematically accurate, and have a sort of "warping," but this may have been a design decision. There's a long chain of gain-staging, feedback, two-filters, overdrive, and effe...
