Re: smaller analog osc with phase modulation?

Yes i can vouch for the FM Aid. It sounds awesome with literally anything i throw at it. I don't use it anywhere near enough, but every time i do, i'm really pleased with the results. Having those different shape outputs means you can seuentially switch between harsher and softer FM/PM sounds and cr...

Different between 10k and 500k pot

What will the audible difference between these two potentiometers for a DIY passive attenuator?

Re: FX AID - multi audio effect module

Ah yes! I've been looking at the FX aid for awhile now and wondered why it only had one (plus d/w) CV input. So i'm glad it's now got a version with 4 (plus d/w) This makes it MUCH more exciting to me!

I actually dont have a front panel design for it, thats only so i know where to drill the holes. I use a gold pen to mark my DIY modules

Re: Two mono mixers = stereo mixing?

A lot of confusion being created here. All a stereo mixer is is 2 independent mono channels feeding L & R buses, nothing cleverer than that. Pan controls for mono channels send varyring amounts to either side, while stereo channels balance pots change the relative volumes of the L & R inputs. Using...

To make the confusion perfect, there are different ways to pan stereo signals. The usual way by just working the level of left or right (depending to which side you're panning) is actually not the best way to maintain the width of a stereo signal :goo:
What's the best way?

Re: Two mono mixers = stereo mixing?

I send my clouds(monsoon) outputs to a dual mono module i made myself. (its actually 8 inputs, divided up into 4 pairs with 4 dual gang potentiometers (1 controlling each pair). I use this as my final module before sending into the DAW. It gives me 8 inputs to the PC that i can use as mono, or can p...

Re: How to create gate from trigger?

Erica Pico T-G turns a trigger to a gate. As does Ladik Clockworks S020. I like the Erica pico as it's voltage controlled so you can create some nice basslines/patterns with different length notes/gates

NO probs! Initially i thought i would want to adjust them, but seeing as i'll probabaly only ever really be using it as a companion to my separate outs fixed filter bank, i'll probs just leave as is.

Re: Doepfer A-130-8 Octal VCA

Very helpful, thanks for sharing. I hope you don't mind a couple other questions yourself: where are the trim pots located on the module? Does it seem like an easy job to do the adjustment that Dieter is describing, turning the trim pot while the module is plugged into the power and signal cables? ...

Re: Am I missing out?

Looks like a nice setup. Since you’ve got the ladik s-180 and the individual outs I’d say you’re missing the cv outs! I find I use them a lot in conjunction with some random. So that there’s a definite patten going on, but it’s got a bit of random spice to it. Would add a lot more to the setup i rec...

Is there anything out there that is similar in size/build to the 4ms PODs but with a lid? Re: Doepfer A-130-8 Octal VCA

I don't really have any means of testing voltage properly while also using the module. As that would cause a voltage drop if i split it off to test i guess.

I think if you're not after absolute precision VCA's this thing is going to be very good for you if you need it!

With audio it's only really noticable at really slow speeds. But could have an effect on the punchiness of your envelopes. @helix, sine you’re one of the lucky few who has one: can you provide some illumination on how the VCA behaves based on Deopfer’s specs of its 1-5V range? (I.e., does it always stay open, or does it only start opening when it receives 1V?) Did you do any tweaking to its range yourself? Sure i'll ge...

Re: question: how to 'smooth' S&H signal?

I recommend the Doepfer A-184-1 module which has three functions, ring modulation, sample+hold, and a slew limiter. Just bear in mind that with the a184 there isn't a zero setting for the slew limiter. It always slews the signal even at 0 amount. Which annoyed me so much i sold it instantly! Maybe ...
