Re: Rossum Electro-Music Mob of Emus

I'm sure the hardware could support it, but the button labels don't. I think it's the classic tradeoff. They could have made the module a few HP larger and thrown in a screen and encoder to allow universal assignment of inputs, fine-grained editing of parameters, etc. or they could have replaced so...

Re: Xaoc Devices Sarajewo: Syncable Analog Delay Line prototype

Just to put another perspective on the price of a BBD delay. Multiple high end analog delay pedals cost the same amount. And that comes with less control. The Chase Bliss Tonal Recall comes to mind. $400 for the 550 ms version and $500 for the 1100 ms version.

Can Anyone recommend a multi pot external offset to control live in real time several of the CV inputs on the A0R?
I use the Michigan Synth Works F8R. 8 sliders in 16 hp. Works very well, though I very rarely use all 8 on Assimil8or alone.

Re: Rossum Electro-Music Assimil8or

One thing I feel like that's not talked about with the module compared to how powerful it is is the single cycle waveform capabilities, especially when used with phase modulation. Something I've been exploring lately is using actual instrument samples, finding a good spot for the single cycle, but l...

Re: Rabid Elephant NATURAL GATE

I too was pretty skeptical. On both the module is really that good and the build quality. After playing with mine for a week... It's a very good and convenient module. It's it worth all the unobtanium hype? Probably not. It's very good at what it does and how it sounds. It's well thought out in enve...

Re: WMD Metron sequencer

A full on slew for an entire Voltera channel could still be pretty useful. Like if the option is stepped or the entire line is slewed. This would make for nice recording of an LFO, for example.

Re: WMD Metron sequencer

No glide built in, but WMD has a nice dual gated slew called Time Warp designed to integrate with Metron/Voltera that purpose. Thanks for the info! My recollection is there was discussion of possibly including that in a Voltera firmware update somewhere down the road. I might be wrong about that......

Re: Announcing F8R, Eurorack 8 channel fader bank (Now shipping)

Anybody have part numbers for these LEDS and something that may be dimmer? Mine are just generic 2x3x4mm LEDs. I bought 180 of them in 9 colors for $10 from China on eBay. Very easy to replace. Just take the cap off, pull out the LED and replace. No harm done if you get it backwards either (on the ...

Thanks for making me realize I could just change all the LEDs. Literally have them sitting around and forgot that was an option. Now I have rainbow LEDs!

Re: Rossum Electro-Music Assimil8or

I'm curious if any A8 owners are using it for voice duty (quantised)? For example, I'd like to use 3 or 4 channels for orchestral / acoustic type samples to pair with my Sinfonion (either to make chords or solo duty). Would the results be comparable to say the beautiful Disting EX multisample piano...

Re: WMD Metron sequencer

A quick thought is to just pre program a line with the initial note and then as you sequence left to right, edit as needed. You'll go back to that initial note, but it might help with the mental aspect. It's helped me a couple times at least...

Re: Rossum Electro-Music Assimil8or

How is assimi8or at recording and playing back cv? I haven’t found any demos of this. If you recorded an lfo and slowed it down is it stepped or still smooth? You can record stuff at 192kHz, so if you have an LFO, it should be very smooth all the way down. But it'll limit how much you can speed it ...

Re: HERTZ DONUT MARK III - shipping now!

I finally managed to update my Donut to the 1.6 firmware hoping to get rid of the slewed v/oct input. Unfortunately sequences of plucked tones still sound like bird songs and it is not possible to achieve bells or glass like sounds. :waah: The Piston Honda also has this, to a slightly lesser amount...

The ER-101 is not capable of producing negative voltages. So I can't seem to make use of that one zone at -5v. I had this issue in general with the ER-101 and Assimil8or, but more for pitch tracking. My solution so far has been using a WMD Volt so that I can offset three CV lines down 3V. It's not ...

Kind of unrelated to the most recent conversation, but is there a reason we don't see more modules with concentric knobs? It would save a good amount of space on a panel and would make a lot of sense if the CV attenuvertor and control knobs were grouped together. However, it would make modules deepe...
