Re: Which direction to move DONE/INTUSTRIAL

Given the use of more complex sources I’d think about erbverb, Mungo c1, freqshifter, comb filter, multi BP filters(3sisters/vibrazium),

-1 for the Octa. It just doesn't sound very good especially the FX

Euro FX can be since since you'll probably have more cv control over things but if you really want stereo across the board then rack or even pedals may be the better option

No one mentioned the Future Retro Transient. Incredibly versatile and has presets so great for live.

+1 for Akemie's and Dinky's taikos and Michigan Synth Works SY0.5

I am liking that EPS suggestion. Do it!! If you're already into the idea of working with an older machine and limited RAM it is worth it. I'm not trying to make full tracks with it, just a sound or two at a time so the process isn't a hassle. Check out the synthesized loop function [video]http://ww...

Pre-order without samples or a set list of algos is challenging but if I'm honest with myself everything Paul does is something I end up wanting/getting. Why fight it?

Just got an Ensoniq EPS (non 16plus version) for $275 with the 2x memory expander at a Music-go-round. Even pricier ones on Reverb stay at or below $400. Depending where you are I see them on craigslist often as well The early Ensoniqs are perfect for what you are asking for. EPS offers a ton of sam...

Depends what you need. I personally think the 4ms Quad Pingable LFO is one of the best/simplest/cost effective options. I however mainly need tempo synced lfo so being able to tap this in quickly with cv control over the shape is indispensible.

+1 on the TT One. Great sounding sample module for a ton of perc range. Never cared for rings on perc to be honest. Certain plastic sound to it. A proper wavetable vco would give you more. It is the first version but I do have a BI for sale for cheap  Skis are ok but I ended up getting Manh...

Why not send the Varigate a standard clock and add swing in the programming? You can set a delay amount per step and even set a random range of that delay amount for real variability.

I keep clocks consistent across the studio and add the variability at the individual seq/voice

Those are attenuators so there is no gain. You will want to gain the Volca if you are processing in your modular

While I completely agree with the fuck modular ambient sentiment these are essentially ambient with a kick. Still grey and in a tunnel.

Second one is nice.

Having been a Euro user for over a decade now I find these sorts of threads amusing. In the early days of Euro it was often the looked down upon format and sausage finger members couldn’t get over the size. Now it is easily the most innovative format because it allowed for diversity and multiple way...

I tend to patch up a hat noise source or use a long open hat sample on a tiptop one. Both go through a vca with an env for the overall shape and then an accent input to boost the level for the accent pattern. Getting a choke effect is just a matter of controlling the env decay.

Thought not the cheapest, I’ve always found the Strymon pedals to offer enough control in a small package with plenty of room to handle live. Plus they sound great with plenty of variants.
