Re: things that would get your Muff license revoked

this one might actually do it, but, here goes anyway: people who let cats in their studios to chew on wires, knobs and get hair and litter everywhere are the real animals :rip: not another word out of you, guy who sold his JAG minutes before I saw it   success! treading lightly now, so he...

Re: Favorite 80s rack mount digital reverb?

how would you describe the character of a reverb from back then vs one built/coded today? or is there not really a centrally unifying sound and they each have their own quirks, just like today. if so, what makes older ones desirable?

haven't been following the project closely, but have had an interest for a while. has there been any talk of production of a reverse faceplate/screen inversion software option? would love to have the jacks on the top of the module.

best sounding wavefolder to my ears is the vbrazil overfolder, has some jucicy sizzle where others seem to distort on the higher settings. just can't seem to find one available.

Re: Modules that "Fascinate"?

I would also put the synth tech deflector shield in this category. shhh.. that's my secret sauce. adds instant movement and complexity to something that just ain't doing it. soundwise, pistona honda mk2 is fascinating. none of my other oscillators hold my attention the way that one does.. i can ser...

Re: Self generating patches....tips and ideas ?

i just had an idea for the ADDAC306 - use it with a (or 5) sample and holds and CV the transition with a synced LFO to the s+h clock and you've got yourself a 5 channel sequencer. i've been looking for a compact sequencer lately for modulating drum timbres, this might do the trick. though giving thi...

Re: ADDAC603 VC Triple Bandpass Filter

anyone got some audio to share? i've been itching for something like this for some real tone shaping jobs. between this or the LR4 Crossover, which while a bit less of a beast, is in some way for versatile for sound processing.

Re: Panning and cross-fading

That seems like an amazing combination! I didn't think of the planar 2! It seems like it gives a lot of control, do you know if it can completely Crossfade two signals using CV? Like something the xfade can do? I may pick one up because if it can, it can also be used for lots of other tricks! It ca...

Re: Rack Rash

When I beta tested the E370 for the first phase, it went into a bamboo box with a couple of 1/4" boards for "rails", and was secured with push pins and rubberbands. No rack rash... There is a terrific idea hiding in here. well we'd all like to beta test paul's modules, but there's only so many to g...

Re: Battle of the modern day 2018/2019 sequencer

i've poured and agonized over sequencers for years. i ended up with several simpler and more immediate ones like rene. you'll see it on here time and time again, picking one is a very personal choice that comes down to preferences in the workflow.. and most importantly the fun of immediacy vs deep p...

yeah, that's one synth i'm not kicking out of my studio in the morning. they did well. but agree with others, i think if i decide to get this system, it all comes down to the sound of the filter. sadly the i-o47 doesn't do it for me.

it's been about a year since i got any new modules that really changed up functionality in my case. i'm about to swap out my JAG for NLC's Clump, a vc matrix mixer, similar functionality to 4ms' VCAM. anyway while daydreaming about what i could do with it, i came up with an idea for a patch with dra...

blinkenlights are the modular's qi. i'll never complain about LEDs unless their retina searing blue or those nuclear green ones shakmat uses.

i'm so torn between a modal:samples and getting a crater+chimera combo.. i think i could get more variety from the box, but i find xox programming tedious and uninspiring... and elektron workflow seems a bit intimidating. but it's less than half the price of those two. someone king of the kicks me i...

Was considering one of these but surprised to see that it's not cited so much when talking about compact modulation sources. I see a lot Zadar, Quadrax and Stages but Kermit rarely comes up. Why is that? i think a lot of casual visitors usually just browse the eurorack section, and probably don't v...

Re: Modules that FEEL good

I also like the use of mini-pots for things like attenuverters and "secondary controls". Frap, Instruō, IME, Mutable and Intellijel all do this - it allows for a lot of control, balanced with decent relative module sizes. topic flip-flop.. i actually can't stand mini pots. there's one on a bastl mi...
