Re: THE SPACE CASE TE-2 - Eurorack / Standalone Echo + Tape Unit

There’s been a bunch of Instagram posts of various cassette mechanism parts lately, hopefully some assembly is going on while the pcbs’s make their way over! ?

Re: >>>SUMMINGFACILITY 6 channels, 2 bus stereo mixer

Nice work on bringing YOUR vision to reality!! Mixers seem to be one of those modules where everyone has a strong opinion and you will never please everyone. (And you don’t have to!!)

Perhaps a 3 or 4 stereo input to master stereo out would be a cool “expander”.

Good luck

Re: Problems with Serge Klangzeit panel

So, what is the special sauce with the WAD? Two synced delays in one package? All the mysticism... but really what’s the magic? (Besides the general BBD goodness..?)

I has a soup kitchen panel years ago and sold it before I ever had a chance to power it up... great regret ... maximum synth regret

Re: Small attenuator knobs? The case for and against

It’s saving money. For mfrs and purchasers. Glad there is such a variety of designs so if they bother you you can find something suitable. Set and forget or not, fine tuning a parameter is easier with larger knobs. And what is “set and forget” is different from patch to patch. So yeah, cut it out wi...

Re: Ignorant Serge power wiring questions

Some people drive Ferraris some people ride bikes some people ride $10,000 bikes some people build a fiero to look like a Ferrari, on and on. STS prices have nothing to do with this. Some people power their soup kitchen panel with a $15 surplus linear supply.

Re: microcontroller + tonewheel generator DIY project

Not sure what you want to do with vactrols off the tone wheels? Don’t tone wheels interact with magnetic pickups? Shouldn’t you just mix and amplify those pickups signals?

Mix signals using a simple op amp mixer.

Microcontroller could be used to control the speed of the tone wheel motor I guess?

Maybe something with patchbays and interconnecting all the separate items in a typical “analog” studio these days..?

Worked for me, powering 2 m-class (creature/quadslope) and blue voice panel.

Things got funky when I added a third panel so I had to grow the power supply .

A big part for me was finding libraries of parts that will get you going so you do t have to create what you need in the beginning.
sparkfun and adafruit have some useful libraries that have helped me (Eagle user)

Re: Behringer: practices, ethics, morals and legitimacy.

Is it that we all want the old synths, or that cheap synths (clone or novel) spark the GAS in many of us? I am beyond wanting the old synths. Been there done that, -meh. But when something new/novel pops up, it is genuinely attractive. When the new attraction is “priced to move” I actively start thi...
