I have a Model 15 reissue and though I love the thing I'd say to most it's not worth it. Mainly because for the practicing musician that's looking for a tool there's a lot of stuff offering the same and more for a lot less cash. However, for the budding synthesist that loves a bit of branded inspira...

You are correct on all above accounts good Sir

Agree! The Model 15 is awesome. The one thing I do wish I had is a 904b High Pass Filter. Right now the only way to get one would be to buy a System 35 or IIIp. I so wish Moog would consider selling certain modules individually. Not so likely, sure...but I can dream! If you don't need to have high ...

I think he pushes with his thumb on the front panel, the finger on the back is just support. It rather looks like it's a USB port on the back there.

Awesome to see you going back into modular dude! Been missing you. Accidentally, me too just got back into modular after a few years of just hard wired. Albeit with something completely different.

Videos will ensue, hopefully from us both, can't wait for yours sir!

The gate to s-trigger cable needs to have a transistor, a resistor, and a diode in it to work...which the Dotcom does. Yes, and being no tech myself I guess there's something not exactly correct in my friends cable. I guess the values or types of even orientation of a component may influence how it...

Yes, apply pos to a 904-A and it doesn't cut the high's - filter fully open. The 904-b works in reverse to that - apply neg and it let's the low's through, apply pos and it filters out the lows. If that's correct then I got it right... :hihi: Put it like this: A positive voltage applied is like mov...

Yes and further to this I had another weird issue with my friends gate to s-trig cable. The pitch of the oscillators driven from the Kenton would go slightly up during keydown and then fall during release. If I opened the VCA to hear a continuous tone I would hear the pitch rise on keydown. It would...

I actually had a weird issue when I first tried my Model 15. As I didn't have proper gate to s-trig cabling (nor the actual keyboard) I just shorted the s-trig poles. That didn't fire T3 at all, release just had no effect whatsoever. I also tried to wires going from my Kenton Pro Solo in s-trig mode...

The Moog sound is said to be coming a lot from the asymmetric distorsion of the CP3 mixer and that is probably somewhat present in the Minimoog mixer as well. Subtle use of a wavefolder will impart some similar distorsion. So not quite a contradiction even though the wavefolder can be much more dras...

Wow! A thread linking no less than three of my videos, I'm so humbled and grateful and glad they're still of use so many years later! :hail: I had all but forgotten about them. As for the OP's question, I'd say that since MU is generally in the east coast segment I'd go for anything that moves it a ...

Oh yeah I can see how a VC Hipass would complement the thing nicely! Not not just you, will be interesting to see what those caps do. I'll try to find some time to compare mine to my friends vintage modules, just to see how much difference there is. I guess with your other stuff that you have, the b...

First of all, congratulations on an awesome instrument! Have had mine for a couple of months and love it to death, it's made me realize quite a few things about synths as more than machines. And Bobs genious. Second, yeah I second your feelings on the 911. I only have some hours of experience with a...

I often use an oscillator for the S&H input. It can be interesting because the different waves gives different voltage distribution and so on. Using high frequency and FM gives very unpredictable results, close to noise.

Fantastic sersch, thank you very much for posting such an extensive answer! I got my Model 15 yesterday and am having some envelope issues. When I try to drive both envelopes in using the s-trig out of my Kenton Pro Solo the sustain portion doesn't work, it's just full on all the time. Using just on...

But after some time I was bothered by not being able to use the CV and S-trig connectors on the front panel's right side, so I finally made myself some adaptor cables for these round Amphenol connectors on the Moog's rear panel: Now the A4's CV and Gate out are accessible on the Moog's front panel....

VINYL (!) Shock full of 200e noises

Beautiful lovely people of the Muff Wiggling community! It is with an enormous amount of pride and humility that I am finally able to present my album, a long journey started way back in 2012 that has finally come to fruition. It's my first 'proper' release where a record label actually found it wor...
