Record the analogue synths into an audio track in Cubase, while playing back the VST stuff.
Then export the results.

Are you planning on sequencing external stuff with the rene? Just curious as there isnt much v/oct aside from clouds. Slightly OT, but keep in mind that there's no need for Rene (or any other sequencer for that matter) to just sequence pitch - v/oct. They can (repeatably) modulate any CV input whic...

A lot of them are safe with +/-15V it would seem. From this page: http://www.doepfer.de/faq/a100_faq.htm#Current specifications Power supply and case for A-100 modules Most of the A-100 modules require a dual +/-12V supply. This means that the terminalsGND, +12V and -12V are necessary. Some older mo...

I think you already have a tool that can do it.
Automator, which is built into Mac OSX, has a batch replace text in a filename function.
It's free so worth trying anyway

There aren't any other modules like the Owl that you can run Max on. The closest thing might be the Qu-Bit Nebulae which can run PD patches. They have information and a PD template on their site. http://www.qubitelectronix.com/legacymodules Another option would be to use a laptop for the Max part in...

Modcan A was always in this sub-forum because, apart from the banana jacks and one or two odd exceptions, the modules are functionally identical to their Modcan B counterparts. It made sense to us to have discussions about module use/functionality etc that would potentially benefit two sets of users...

You could try Audiomulch.
It certainly hosts plugins and is great for live performance. There's a free demo so you can try it out to see if it does what you want.

Re: Level of Musical/Production Knowledge needed for Modular
tl;dr - How much previous musical training/experience did you have prior to getting into modular, and how much do you think is necessary before doing so? Very little. None at all. I'd say a basic background understanding of (some of) the electronic principles involved might be useful in terms of re...

personally I think that FFB are part of a few modules that have become a bit outdated.. because it was in a moog doesn't meant that they are "needed" but.. its part of the cult these days so I guess people "need" one.. a polymoog resonator should be enough..? 200$ 2u.. I feel the same about huge st...

I'm maybe in a bit of a minority in 5U land in that most of my patches are self-playing type ones and I went happily without any sequencer in my system for quite some time until very recently. Sequencers as looped (or not) note generation devices don't interest me that much. Sequencers used as patch...

The A format one kind of fits right in. Huge though. https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/userpix2/81_57aonfrac_1.jpg Got some good sounds that way, mostly from drastically slowing down glitchy sounds to find rhythmic clockwork sounds. Oh - the number of times I've said to myself - "I wish the CV Reco...

Tajnost I use a Modcan A series CV recorder for some of the sort of things you are talking about with my Bugbrand system. It can do granular type textures ok although certainly doesn't do all the things you are talking about though. And unfortunately they're pretty hard to find these days :( I thin...

Thanks The Disquiet and thermionicjunky for your input. Some more details and a sound clip attached. Note: It's the FM Ratio that's the problem. I said FM Index initially - have edited my first post to make this clear. The first two sweeps of the clip are me turning the FM Ratio pot manually. The se...
