It's absolutely unacceptable that over 1.5 years since release, we're still waiting on any firmware update for a $450 module. meanwhile 4ms has released other modules and cases.

its an absolute piss-take. that $450 is the last money 4ms will ever see from me.

I just got one of these and I dunno about prior to the 2.4 update, but as of now this thing is *incredible* I have this connected to my modular and with the easy chopping on the mpc I can actually fool around on my modular for a bit and then immediately turn it into tracks. really great instrument.

honestly if you like this, just get the dwarf star stereo delay by blue lantern. its based on the same pt2399 IC and you get two channels that you can run in series, parallel or individually. additionally, he designs his modules so that the panel controls correspond to "sane" controls, but every par...

4MS has completely taken the piss with supporting this module.

this module was released in 2017 and we're STILL waiting on any substantive firmware updates/improvements.

unacceptable in a $450 module.

i wouldn't get your hopes up. it seems this is an abandoned module, as the last and only(?) update was over a year ago and 4ms has released several products since. You’re not wrong. I emailed them today about new firmware and got the following reply: “We are not currently working on a firmware upda...

if I do plain waveforms there are clicks. if I take pieces of audio like people talking or drum loops I can find where there is a quiet enough point to choose the loop without clicks. just depends on what you choose to sample. When sampling an oscillator I want to make a sound out of, usually just ...

blue lantern doesn't deserve the hate he gets here. the guy makes great modules that have crazy interfaces, his modules are generally quite a good value and are well made (as far as I can tell) and he is very responsive to support issues. if you look at his modules you'll see that he actually has so...

again, any update on this firmware? 4ms is kind of taking the piss releasing this module almost a year ago with what amounts to beta firmware and then moving onto coding another much less expensive module. for a $450 module, i'd like to see the potential of this thing realized before something bette...

I honestly wouldn't bother with the 4MS STS. they ploppped that (not inexpensive) module out into the marketplace and have done little to support/enhance it via firmware updates. in fact, iirc, there has been a single firmware update released to address a really obvious bug. beyond that, in its curr...

the sapel is probably the best random in euro. the panel design leaves a bit to be desired but its a very good and musical random.

I don’t know if this has already been covered, but Doepfer has been producing <$100 modules (or at least <£100 and <€100) modules for decades: http://emismusic.co.uk/doepfera100.html They are (I think) German made. Some of them are even original designs! and Doepfer is an absolutely terrific compan...

somewhat disappointed with the post-release support this module has (or hasn't) received. its been almost 8 months since the last firmware update and even ignoring major feature adds, there is quite a lot of low-hanging-fruit from a UI/workflow standpoint that could have been knocked out by now.

Frap needs to hire someone to do their panel layouts and legending imo. I have a SAPEL and I like it, but the left to right layout sucks, and so does the layout of this module.

controls at top, i/o at the bottom.

I'm kind of curious as to why you installed an alternative firmware if you've never used even the stock before? I'd definitely reinstall the factory and get used to that (and the alternate modes) and then once you've mastered that, if you feel it isn't doing enough, get something else going. I feel...

As for getting the kinks out, just pop in them outside for 30 min in the sun.
or chuck them in the oven at 150 for 10 minutes. thats what I've always done. makes them pliable and if you forget and leave them in too long they still come out very tasty.

really weird sized case. kinda too small to be of use for me, which sucks because I kinda like the aesthetics (except the giant arturia artwork on the back). also, I think not adding the power adapter jack and power switch to the case is a stupid move. its already a small case without using up some ...

I'm almost ashamed to admit that I'm interested in this after I returned my last Minibrute within a month of buying it, yet... this does look interesting. I was able to get bopping pretty good with some acid house arpeggios on the Microbrute but was never able to coax up anything inspiring on the M...

I have two of these and just noticed the other day that one of them (the one that I ordered directly from Latvia) has a defective LED. I can change modes, but the LED only stays on green or red. Sometimes, it will dimly show a little blue when in the first reverb mode, but sometimes not. Erica Synt...
