If the radio plays it, it too me is burned and we underground producers have to come up with something more creative. ....i don´t listen radio ! ;) only/mostly 70s Music, ...so i still find sidechaing something quite fresh  i personally don´t produce, i even nolonger do wild programming of my ...

Re: settings for sidechain compression ? kick vs. modular-grooves
I understand you’re asking for objective and specific settings, but that’s not generally how compressors are setup. Even with years of experience and observation I, and any colleagues I can think of, ultimately set compressor and limiter settings based on what sounds best, rather than any sort of h...

You might want to look at Plankton Electronics’ Spice; +1 on Plankton electronics. just that i personally would recommend the Nutone plus the Env-follower as single modules. The nutone suits for many things. its a good buddy for many systems for shure otherwise am i a fan of The germanium diode ( o...

Re: Less gear - better focus?
Well, there is one point i think was not tackled here to any extent. Piano, guitar, drums - they all have their own UX/UI; that has been there for 'some time' already. The problem i find/found is not about how much gear one have, but what kind of interactions you want to learn to produce music effe...

settings for sidechain compression ? kick vs. modular-grooves
The title says it all: its about sidechaining typical modular synthgrooves from a kick drum, ( i go now DAW) what would be your numbers for attack in ms , and release you want to tell me i should try out ? speaking about VST compressors. and: are you just sidechaining tame or quite heavy ? ( i know,...

Re: Envelope Sequencer / Sequenced Envelopes
worth to note: the WMD MMF + expander has a "time" CV in, which affects all stages. so, one CV is enough. The natural gate, a LPG, not an envelope, allows superwell for one knob controls. i just patch a 3xMIA into both CV inputs at once. That then, allows also for: "one CV controls all" The NG works...

Also, I'm in a musical phase of exploration so I don't have a vision I'm trying to execute or anything like that. ...........thats where the waisted time starts i fear ? at least to how some folks want to look at it. it seems that "music making" means today: "spitting out finsihed tracks". ...........

one thing to mention again, this here has NOTHING to do with DAW or any production work at all ;) i don´t DAW so far ;) i also don´t produce ;) Also if you want to forgo the DAW, you could build your own multi-track custom FX unit vs.the bold part: thats what this thread is about ! i´m just doing th...

Re: Cosmotronic Thru Zero Complex Oscillator - Teaser
Cosmo mentioned that the index pot always works as an offset, regardless of whether CV is patched into the index jacks. I also prefer it this way. What might have confused you is that the index pot is actually bipolar - it apparently adds a negative offset when turned left of noon, so what Cosmo wa...

Re: Cosmotronic Thru Zero Complex Oscillator - Teaser
Yeah the core's are SSI2130. It's a kind of funny story actually, I spent quite some time last year designing a thru-zero tri core, and finally when I had a well working version the SSI2130 came out. So I gave it a try and it sounded awesome. Tracking and frequency range were better and part count ...

Re: Granular module for CV signals?
i very much doubt that you would get any more interesting CVs out by using granular manipulation, versus just using what the market allready has. the point in my opinion is: to get *more* musical results out by plan would you have to control the signal, means also: you need to know whats there. for ...

Exactly what I was thinking,if this is a 2130 , if so this is pretty much an Insta for me i´ve not heard a SSI2130 yet, and the Demo of this VCO had definitly some nice tones. i´m very curious. my personal focus for VCOs is on phase modulation ! but has to have TZFM as a second option as well. so t...

Re: Cosmotronic Thru Zero Complex Oscillator - Teaser
has this VCO anything to do with the SSI2130 VCO IC, or is it totally unrelated ? judging from the (angled) pictures is it looking as some pots are to close to the VCO pitch adjustment, and it also looks like they could be moved more towards the sliders. ( not knowing whats going on underneath vs. t...
