The Mungo g0 will give you finer control via its zoom. But I wonder whether part of the unpredictability you are experiencing is perceived rather than actual e.g. if you are dealing with small pieces of audio, it might sound like something different is happening when in fact it's the same process bu...

I don't know what the + and - 'slice' are on the SISM, but, yes, it looks similar, albeit bar the M14's cross-fader (did that ever work properly?). But here's something to consider: in my experience, I'm always after smaller mixer/offsets when patching; I'd rather have a couple of smaller units than...

Depending on how you want to integrate that gate into your composition, the Doepfer A-160 /32 output will go high for 8 bars every other 8 bars creating an 8 bar gate. The A-160 is called a clock divider, but it is really a binary counter that outputs gates of varying length depending on the count ...

Buying a Juno 60 won't set you apart from fashion. But I'd join the 'if you've got the money and it will make you happy, buy it' crowd. Life's too short.

The Nord Lead 3 always gets a bad rap for not having a good sound - isn't it exactly the same engine as the G2? If so I'm guessing no.1 on the list for a G3 would be a jump in sound quality... Well, ironically, the 'bad rap' the G2 got for its sound was that it was better than the NM1. Go figure, a...

But seriously, it depends what you want: the D-LFO has interesting sync options, the Vulkan is about cross-mod which, iirc from a long time ago, can never fully be nulled/cancelled.

... but if you did have a hardware modular 3 think how amazing it might be. I think we're all agreed that it is unlikely to happen but I'd be interested to hear what people would want from a G3. I don't mean iPad connectivity, which could itself become outdated, but things that were missing from th...

There's no hard and fast rule about this. Again, it's not just about the shape but whether it's offset - if it's riding on DC, your FM will suffer.

^That is the shape you get when plugging a sine-, rather than a sawtooth-, wave into a single-stage saw-tooth animator. See Electronotes EN87 part for details. As the Doc suggests, the circuit is based on the mixing (actually subtraction) of an out of phase square-wave with the input. The circuit wa...

I'm sure it's a nice thing to have if, for example, you want exact setting recall for playing live. But it's not the be-all-and-end-all: I found the combo of Pressure Points & Maths or some other slew work better for me. I like morphing between presets :goo:

Of course one can buy stuff, but I think it's a fun challenge. :tu:

My thinking wasn't wrong - I can filter a triangle LFO to get a sine, just not with Maths.

The reverse is also possible - straightening a sine into a triangle. It also involves some maths ;)
