Don't use acetone. Some soldermasks will react poorly to it.

I don't want this thread to devolve but wanted to point out that I bought 2 NOS Sola Hevi (5.1A) supplies for $40USD total. Linears can be found everywhere so always keep an eye out.

Just leaving this here if anyone is having issues with compiling. The Pedvide ADC library referenced in the DAC-ADC setup ino is updated so the code won't compile using the current master. I had to roll back to the previous 8.0 release. I haven't finished my module to actually flash a teensy to test...

Former petrologist. Any compound microscope with two oculars are referred to as stereoscopic microscopes or stereoscopes. I tried headsets but they gave me headaches and blurred my vision after using them for a while so I looked at stereo microscopes. Your eyes will thank you once start using a prop...

Do you have half the voltage at TP1? Thanks for the reply. Yes I do. I’ll pull the board and look at the uC more closely on my scope. Someone else in this thread mentioned a similar problem so I thought maybe there was some relationship but maybe it’s just a bad connection or something else. I’ll a...

Re: [BUILD] JasperIN - Midi and CV/Gate Input for Jasper/Wasp
Just got back to this and it looks like cv and gate aren’t working. Gate LED is illuminating with incoming gate but I’m guessing this is just connected directly to the socket. Link header seems to be connected properly but is there anything I could be missing?

I've purchased (more than once) blacktopped ICs from UTSource. To quote the esteemed GW "Fool me once, shame on ... shame on you. Fool me... You can't get fooled again."

I just put everything together and receiving midi properly but the CV/Gate in is not working with the exception of the gate LED. There are a few mentions of this in the t...

Re: How to remove excess solder paste from an SMD board?
MSDS shows containing N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone which is used as a no-clean flux used by many solder companies like Kester. How you clean it is debatable and as altitude stated the manufacturer may have an answer which will most likely be a specific product (e.g. some type of alcohol plus a saponifier)...

Mouser ships that fastest for anyone near Texas and particularly in Texas. I usually submit orders between 3-5pm on Thursdays and they're at the office by noon Friday. Hard to beat that...especially at $7.99 for shipping.

10-100uF (I use 22uF) and 10-100nF for just upon power entry to the the board. Just 10-100nF for each V+/- pin supplying power to the IC. These should be immediately next to the pin.

Third recommendation for brymen but I have a 869s. Great meter for the price. I bought a fluke 87v for a price I couldn't refuse and the brymen performs the same. The spec sheet shows the brymen is more accurate and has higher cat rating but I don't notice it for the work I do.

Not sure about burning down your gear or house with EL Wire. However those inverters are noisy as all get out, the wire is so fragile that they break if you just look at them wrong and there's always the possibility of shock since it's relatively high AC. The first point alone will drive you absolut...

At <400nm it's gonna be tough to judge brightness of an LED and whether you're being overexposed. I know some people don't tire from staring at blues but if I'm sitting in front of blue and white LEDs for a few hours my eyes are tired. My understanding was that overexposure can lead to early macular...
