Re: Dear Audacity: please die. Horribly.

FWIW I still use SoundForge running in Wine on a Linux laptop, but that's about the extent of my use of computer software - oh except I occasionally run the OG Recycle (in Wine) to push samples into a K2500RS. SoundForge still works pretty well for most audio editing I need to do, which admittedly i...

Re: Dear Audacity: please die. Horribly.

if your workstation is not able to run even audacity then it's probably time you get a decent computer. how much money did you invest in your modules and how much did you invest in your workstation? :foul: I'm guessing someone called "commodorejohn" with mention of a PDP and a VAXstation in his sig...

I'm currently working on a series of Cirklon tutorial videos, somebody posted a link to one of them already but there are three so far:
In all seriousness you've done an immense service to Cirklon users here.

(though if you keep it up with those GX1 quips, we're going to have to hunt you down)

Re: Next best thing to QU-bit Tri-ger? (or, other really good trigger-modules?)

Yes, I initially found the buttons on the Launch Codes a little small, but I've put it on the far left of my case, and accessing them from there works fine for me.

For some reason I'd assumed you were from the US. I've no idea why now that I think of it.

Re: Next best thing to QU-bit Tri-ger?

I'm not very familiar with the Tri-ger but I do really like the AntiMatter Audio Launch Codes

https://www.modulargrid.net/e/antimatte ... unch-codes

5 gate/trigger outputs that will record your button presses if you give it an appropriate clock.

I reckon we won't be locked down forever, and it'd be nice to put some stakes down and start talking to some like-minded Wigglers. For some reason I'd assumed yo...

I quite like SIGN, I've enjoyed it more immediately than any recent AE release...until PLUS. I really like this one, lots more beats and rhythms. Both have elements here and there that remind me of past releases - textures really. Overall PLUS feels very different than SIGN. I wonder if they were ma...

I've heard AE plan to release 18 more albums in October, the titles of which combine to form a rather succinct proof of Goldback's Conjecture.

Re: Favorite FX units for drum machines?

If you're going the gtr pedal route then try using a mixer so you can do parallel processing (mixing dry feed with wet return - esp to avoid bass loss) A small note on this... If you do this, sometimes a pedal will flip the phase of your signal and mixing the wet signal back in with the dry cancels...

Re: Seeking sound examples of wavefolders in feedback paths

My initial experiments creating feedback with the Fold 6 produced all manner of sputtering noise, much of which was quite cool, but none of which was remotely similar to that video. Upon viewing that video again, I don't actually think much if any of the tone is coming from feedback. I can't recall...

Re: Sequentix Cirklon

The one limitation that does sometimes get in my way is that P3 patterns are limited to 64 steps. I hadn't seen that mentioned anywhere before I got it and was kind of disappointed with the arbitrary limit. It is the 21st century after all (and malloc() is hardly a new concept, ok I'm being snarky ...

i'm curious - does the cirklon still limit the timing of notes to even values? I remember that at one time the range was limited (can't remember exactly what they were) but you couldn't choose some odd number of ticks for instance..... Not that I can see for either P3 or CK patterns. CK patterns ar...

Damn that was good. The most melodic ae album in many years. Fewer beats than usual but still many nice intricate rhythms to enjoy.
