Re: how are you patching your NLC sloth?
Slightly off topic but how difficult are the 1U sloths to build for someone who has through hole experience but has never done any SMD before ? Thinking about picking up a few of the PCBs/Panels and building each version Seems like the perfect intro to smd (low parts count, easy to source parts, an...

Was just gonna mention that one. Really nice for eq duties and more experimental stuff (audio rate modulations etc). Maybe not as fun as the serge though IMO

Re: Good and Bad of Modular Manufacturers
I had an idea for a modification of a Mazzatron (https://www.mazzatron.com/) item. A few emails back and forth with Sean and he had tested the concept, improved it and designed a prototype. A month or so later he was producing the module. That's mighty good customer focus! Super great experience wi...

Nice patch. Are the slow fluctuations in pitch coming straight from the oscillator(s) or is DV doing some of that?Whatisvalis wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 9:18 pmPlaying around with the Desmodus Versio after rewiring my FX chain.

Anyone happen to know what After Later Audio uses on their Pachinko (and maybe Beehive)? They are a little larger than the befaco micros but have a nice matte finish

Curious if this project is still being developed. @Sin_Phi you still kicking this thing around? Bumping this as I have redesigned for the Teensy 4.0. A very exciting MCU I can't wait to experiment with. There are still some outstanding questions on capabilities. Especially the quad I2S audio. Once I...

granny - lol i hear you. stijn from this is not rocket science agrees with you, and im contemplating a slightly larger, battery powered unit with jacks at the top. I'd love to see a slightly larger version considering the potential for this to be used as a standalone controller for eurorack (outsid...

I was a little too slow, too. Now I know to pre-load my thonk cart with the other bonus items I need. ;) @mmalex thanks for the forthrightness on the process. Lots of admin! If we were on the list initially and just missed our chance will we be in line for the next round of emails whenever that may ...

Re: Which old school eurorack modules don't get enough love anymore?
TBH I bought a lot of the newer modules and they are indeed handy, more different functionality in less space, Fixed that for you. They present a different approach . Is there really *more* in a module which implements a VCO and presents different pre-decided combinations of its waves compared to a...

Ah, ok good to know, thanks. I was just browsing the manual and not peeking at the code. DSP and processing power, etc. isn't something I have much of a grasp on so that's good to hear.

folks, let's not get worked up over what I think is a series of autocorrect typos. It's clear to me that kat is looking to acquire one korg 2600, for $10K, on behalf of their benefactor and known contemporary synth collector, Guy... https://brokeassstuart.com/wp-content/pictsnShit/2020/06/guy-fieri....

Several times I've considered selling my factory clouds and getting one of the smaller clones with added controls and stopped myself. That Buchla adaptation, though - wow, I might consider trading up for that one if I was in that format ;) I'm hoping the next clouds will be similar to rings in terms...

I'd love if Clouds 2 was hyped as a 52 hp beast with the same controls as Clouds 1 but with input attenuator knobs the size of hockey pucks.

Thanks Befaco. Had a peak at the synth DIY guy video. Nice rundown and the calibration process looks pretty slick (nice build guide too). Any early adopters (or OWL users) played around with the reverb algos for traditional and non-traditional uses? That is to say, can one of these tame my GAS for the NE Desmodus or the upcoming Qu-Bit Aurora?

Re: Standalone filter or Eurorack filter
The fact that the serge res eq doesn’t have any cv inputs that’d be “wasted” by being standalone also points to this choice.
Plus if its not working how you want it you can resell it easy - or rack it up with the others.

That would be very much appreciated if you have a chance :sb: Results using the integrated voltmeters: With cable tips unconnected or connected to GND there is already an offset voltage of 17mV on both channels (sometimes 33mV on the 2nd channel) in DC mode. The device autocalibrates eve...

Re: USB oscilloscope for synth
Looks like the ADALM 2000 has two DC capable voltmeters with 1mV display precision: https://wiki.analog.com/university/tools/m2k/scopy/voltmeter Taking the +-20V input range and 12bit ADC will result in a measurement resolution of 10mV without autorange (40V/4095 steps ~ 10mV). Thanks for that. Hav...

Funny I was just about to post a similar question. Anyone know of any out there that can also give (fairly) accurate readouts of static DC voltages? For instance to calibrate an ornament & crime? Anyone running an owl (or software) that has any thoughts in either direction on the available reverbs?
