Re: Moving to Australia, gear logistics!???

I suggest putting everything in the shipping container, since you are getting it already. it'll be the safest and most secure way. Finding a reputable international moving company. XXX forwarders will endeavour to safeguard your belongings and deliver it on time. How large is your shipment? Moving ...

Re: Synthi options

The problem of making alternate matrix designs in not really cost, but size. You can get high density 3.5mm TS jacks with plastic bodies (allowing you to use TS and not TSR) jacks in the quantities you need (256 for a 16x16) for under $100 but they do take up a large space. If you made a VCS3 style...

Re: Inside the Korg ARP 2600

Obviously could have been a mini, aside for maintaining the original interface and appealing to our nostalgia. The original is similarly mostly empty. There is more than nostalgia to be considered here. While some may feel the size difference is 'wasted space', I will contend that user interface us...

The first upgrade is for you to learn how to play...gear comes second, player first...do you know how to change strings properly?

Re: Behringer Pro 800, Prophet 600 clone

Curtis filters or SSM2044 filters would sound better, is it stereo? But then, it becomes a P5....they inly share the same BCO chips... Interesting page for chips used in synths: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/CEM_and_SSM_chips_in_synthesizers Yeah I hear you, but I remember when the Prophet 600 ca...

Re: Behringer Pro 800, Prophet 600 clone

This is an un-official Mock-up, but i really want this. http://www.vo1t.com/Euro/Illustrated/Pro-800.jpg I think the membrane switches on the original Prophet 600 probably aren't working so good after all this time. I wonder if they'll add Noise or a 2nd LFO? 8 Voices is pretty amazing, Curtis filt...

Re: Behringer Pro 800, Prophet 600 clone

Prophet 600 is a great synth, no doubt, with the old classic vibe. The new Prophets are great as well, especial the P6, P12 and the Rev2. The new Pro 3 is promising. But still missing a modern P5, hope that’s on Behringer’s list - if not Uncle Dave get the brilliant idea of making a Prophet 5 (rev ...

At the same time, if they re making a prophet 600, they ll probably use this as a template for the P5 later, at least they share the same VCO chips..

Always liked the sound of the 600. Can’t wait to hear a comparison.

Re: Behringer Odyssey

Does not seem normal, swap it to another one... I really love my Odyssey, it has a better feel than the original I find (slider needed changing) and the duophony seems to work better too, this is really a great great synth. Had the short keys Korg version and it aounded good too, but I enjoy this on...

Re: What´s better: Macbeth M5 or Arp 2600

I've owned an M5n for many years, still going strong. Still my go to synth for many things, it combines nicely with my other favourites, minimoog and Vermona Perfourmer. Its pretty versatile but also plays nicely with eurorack which opens up whole new worlds of advanced sound design. I'm not that c...

Re:

I was thinking about both but have to admit that I haven't been keeping up on the used equipment pricing lately. In any case the 2600, depending on which generation, has epoxy encapsulated sections in some modules. If those break down you will find it hard to replace them unless you use clone circu...

Re: Behringer 2600

I'd rather have them omit the reverb section entirely if they aren't going to put in an effort to at least make a spring reverb emulation sound like one. I had DAW plug-ins that sounded more authentic 20 years ago. You can make entire classes of sounds that are generated just by sending pulses of s...

Re: Behringer 2600

I agree the spring reverb gives a lot of caracter to the 2600. In fact, I’d like to hear for some time a simple drone of the 3 vco in it as they normally sound massive like that, like a military plane flying over. The sample and hold in the VCOs is beautiful too in this synth, you could listen to th...

I personnally ordered the Korg one (Sold my 2600 when moved from city to city when I was married) but as a happy owner of the Behringer Odyssey, I hope they’ll be able to replicate the mighty 2600 beast. Their Odyssey is really, really good.

Re: Sequential Pro 3

The Pro2 was quite a nice synth, sold it, but had fun with it for a while. Looks like DSI take on the minimoog with a modern twist with their cross matrix for modulation and the recycling of their existing filters. Not interested, but I can understand the appeal. Now I guess designing a monosynth in...
