I, along with a few other Muffwiggler users went to the wake and funeral this afternoon. We were all standing off to the side when Mike's mother made a point of coming over to us. She asked if we were part of Muffwiggler (I guess we all looked like synth nerds). Her face lit up when we said yes. We ...

Hard Science - Dreaming in Stereo

Hello Synth Friends, I'd like to announce the release of my debut solo record, Dreaming in Stereo. It's a synth heavy album of mostly dreamy, space echo drenched pop songs. Lots of vintage synths, modular synths and drum machines throughout the album. It's available as a digital download, and a limi...

In case anyone's interested, I ended up getting access to a slightly better laptop (2.4GH, 8GB RAM, SSD hard drive, less crap installed) and things seem much better, at least with the frame rate issue. The delays in triggering videos in the rackPlayr are still present, and now I'm dealing with const...

Zeal VIZZable Frame Rate Issues :(

Hey all, I'm just getting into Max for Live for the purposes of live video within my Ableton Live setup. My main use is to launch existing video clips via MIDI notes. My laptop isn't the greatest. It's a standard Dell Latitude Core i5-2410M CPU @ 2.3GHz w/ 4GB of RAM, no GPU, and Windows 7 64Bit SP1...

Re: Tektronix 475A Opinions

I used a Tektronix 475 in the below video. Not sure what the difference between the 475 and 475A is though. TBH, for vector rescanning, I'd go with a Tektronix 608, 620, Leader LBO-51MA, or any other X-Y vector display over an oscilliscope with Z input. Many scopes, including the 475 don't have a re...

Just a quick heads up that I spoke with Danjel and he will be sending me a new, updated chip. I also purchased one of their USB ISPs so that I can avoid this malarky for future upgrades :/

Thanks for all the help.

Just saw your FB post. Its very possible the isp device you are using isn't compatible. Any local shop or other local users with the proper ISP you could check with? Hi exper, thanks for the reply. I'll see if there's someone/somewhere I can check. At this point I'm wondering if my entire module is...

Is it possible that the orientation of the 6 pin header on this 3rd party USBtinyISP is different than what Intellijel has on their device? If so, that might mean that when I line up the red stripe on the ribbon cable with the white line on the Metropolis PCB, it's backwards. I'm too scared to try i...

I had a similar signature when I accidentally plugged the updater into the wrong port. I plugged it into the 6-pin link for Atlantis instead of the update port. No harm done. Put it on the right pins and worked without a hitch. Hello. Thanks for the reply. I'm confident I plugged the connector into...

Metropolis Firmware Updating Woes

Soooo, I purchased a 3rd party USBtinyISP from ebay and tried updating my Metropolis' firmware using Intellijel's updater. All seemed to be going ok, until I saw this on the Log: avrdude.exe: safemode: hfuse changed! Was d8, and is now ff ==> Error occurred during update. Would you like this fuse to...

I do live video a lot, and video feedback is one of my favorite things to do. I hear what you're saying with your concern for people's eyes. I use my rig mostly for techno and I swear by my PEG. I use it mainly on filter cutoffs. You can get some pretty awesome syncopation with it.

I'd make room for it.

I have an E350. It's my favorite oscillator by far. If you get one, do yourself a favor and get the Manhattan Analog expander module. It brings the glitch and phase jumpers to the front! As for similar, I just got a Braids and I love the wavetable settings. Also, the WTX4 setting is pretty damn cool...

Yeah. I read some of the MI and Synthtopia posts that were linked. Along with the general crummy attitude displayed in this thread, I'd say that I've reconsidered. I will be stearing clear. Which is a total shame. I mean, the idea behind the modules is really great. I'd love a cheap, simple and smal...
