Re: Harmoniums

...Shouldn't the plural be "Harmonia?" All the Googling I did came up with "Harmoniums". Harmonia seems to be "the goddess of harmony and concord... a daughter of Ares and Aphrodite and as such presided over both marital harmony, soothing strife and discord, and harmonious action of soldiers in war."

Re: Harmoniums

What harmonium did you end up getting? What else led you to choose it? I got the Swaranjali 828S its a standard model. I didn't want a portable/collapsable model as I wouldn't be traveling with it. I've read that standard models have less moving parts and are slightly more reliable with less of a c...

Re: Harmoniums

Looking here too Trilo. Trying to find something a bit richer and more complex sounding than the run-of-the-mill instruments. Lots of harmonium on those first few xiu xiu records (which are excellent)! Though Jamie's Harmonium sounds pretty run-of-the-mill. I love Xiu Xiu especially the early album...

I’m curious if anyone knows what kind Nico used on her albums and concerts. She very much made it her own whatever the case.
Not sure which one she used but Janitor of Lunacy is definitely a big inspiration song for me wanting a harmonium. I love Desertshore!

Re: Harmoniums

Thanks again for the replies and suggestions. Just ordered a Swaranjali 828S from Lars. Ended up being below the lower end of my budget. After my order he is down to only 4 harmoniums left in stock. Due to the lockdowns in India it might be quite a while before he gets more. So if anyone is contempl...

Re: Harmoniums

Thanks for the website recommendations. I'm not near Berkeley to visit Lark in the Morning unfortunately. Seems like a cool shop! Rain City Music has a great selection of indian instruments and it seems they have a lot of experience too.The model 509 Deluxe is at a good price. I've also come across ...

Harmoniums

I’m looking to get a harmonium this summer. Budget is $600-$900. I know very little about them. I’ve always loved the sound of harmoniums and have a vision of me playing one on my front porch during sunset.

Any advice? Brands/models to look for?

Any info would be appreciated!

Re: Routing Ableton CV tools through Presonus 1824

...have you prepared floating ring cables for cv control? I've got 6 on order with Perfect Circuit. Anxiously awaiting them to come in stock. I could make my own but they are cheap and I can't really spare any of my existing cables. The cable issue seems to be another BIG mistake I was making. I di...

Re: Routing Ableton CV tools through Presonus 1824

I may have figured it out... It seems line outs 1 & 2 mirror the Main L & R outputs (or vice versa). So sending CV/Gate signals through outs 1 & 2 will also send those signals through the main L & R outs. At least that is what seems to be happening. As far as I can glean online, this can't be change...

Routing Ableton CV tools through Presonus 1824

Hello! I'm trying to figure out how to use Ableton's new CV tools with my new (used actually) Presonus Studio 1824 audio interface. I've connected DC-Coupled line outs 1 and 2 to my SH-101s CV and Gate In, which I'm guessing are outputs 3 & 4 according to Ableton as 1 and 2 would be the Main L and R...

Expressive E Osmose

Expressive E, the makers of the Touche' are releasing a keyboard next year where every key sort of acts like a mini Touche! It's sound engine is the EaganMatrix from Haken. I guess this is a collaboration. If you reserve one with a $299 down payment, you'll end up getting 40% off the retail price. I...

iOS apps for slow IPads

I commandeered my wife's old Ipad 3 that she wasn't using with the intent of using it as an audio processor. Unfortunately I'm finding I'm limited to apps that can support iOS 9.3.5 as that is the last iOS the IPad 3 will update to. I'm also finding some of the apps I was intending on using seem to ...

I posted this over in the other thread but maybe this is a better place for a discussion. It looks like the Patreon is currently funded at a bit over $800 per month. How is that not enough for the monthly hosting charges? You can get a dedicated server (4 cores, 16GB RAM, 1TB HDD) with unlimited ba...

Which rack-mountable semi-modular has the most patch points?

Is it the Behringer Neutron? It sounds good enough to me but I'm mainly interest in it's patchbay. That is the winner that I can find so far. I'm in the market for something with alot of patchpoints to interact with my other gear and I have a 3U hole to fill it but don't want to go the eurorack rout...

Re: Is Eurorack just extreme consumerism?

Is much of eurorack culture just a form of extreme consumerism? I myself use my eurorack synth as a supplemental/inspirational tool to record sounds, sequences, drum patterns, motifs/phrases to be used or explored further in a more controllable environment, like a DAW or tracker. But I'm interested...

I live with mommy because I decided I want to be cool and become a EDM/dubstep/trap/[insert current trending genre] producer, working outside the box, and I need those pricey distortions and synthies yo!
