You might want to look a bit more outside of the box, beyond just expression pedals. For example, I was able to use a Korg SQ-1 connected to the Filter/Expression In on my DSI OB-6 and got some really cool results. The SQ-1 may not work with every expression jack on every synth, but it’s an example ...

Prevention- Go to a fabric store and buy a couple of yards of some sort of fabric that tickles your fancy. That’ll likely be way cheaper than buying covers. Removal - Vacuum cleaners with small nozzles may worl, but there could be troubles with static electric. A Swiffer brand duster is a good optio...

The drum gates on the BSP are intended more for triggering percussion events on other devices. For example, if you look at a module like the Delptronics’ LDB-2e, you’ll see that it has a gate in for each drum voice. The BSP, through the 8 Drum gates out, could trigger the drum voices on the LD-2e, w...

Another nod to the Motu 16A.

I’ve expanded mine to 32 tracks with a Behringer ADA8200 and a Focusrite 18i20. Perhaps a bit overkill, but I really like having everything connected without messing with patch bays, etc.

There is some menu diving. However, they utilize a matrix system, which is fairly intuitive, and well laid out on the face of the panel. I've seen far worse implementations of menu diving, but I've seen some that are better. It's nowhere near as complex as Elektron. Also, unless you are completely 1...

Looks like you've been mugged off by Gear4Music more than Behringer tbh
Yup, I'd agree. I've heard multiple reports of people buying new items from Gear4Music only to receive returned items.

I'm currently using a MOTU 16A that gives me 16 line input tracks, and I'm expanding it to 32 tracks with a Scarlett 18i20 and a Behringer ADA8200 via ADAT. I'm super happy with this setup as it allows me to have everything connected all the time with no jockeying around with patch bays, etc.

I don't think it's a response to Behringer, otherwise they would not have gone through the trouble of designing and building a sequencer to go with this synth. The Behringer is strictly a sound module (no sequencer), with a lower price. I agree. I doubt it would have been possible for the partnersh...

I find the criticisms of Roland strange, and I'm not a roland fanboy. Roland's product range right now is pretty amazing, and gives people cheap entry into a whole range of sounds: digital, modelled, analogue modular, analogue desktop, and they make very solid midi controllers. I recently picked up...

The best thing about this is the long overdue attention thus will garner for Studio Electronics. But I do agree with @pre55ure and his observations. It is sad to see Roland take the role of follower, when they were true leaders and innovators for so long. I'm not sure that I agree that thus was anyt...

I think maybe some of us have been using drum machines without individual outputs for so long, that we've forgotten that part of the charm of the older classics were that you could individually enhance and/or mangle each instrument. Now, when we get our hands on one with individual outputs, we expec...

Unlikely, I regard this as sort of part of the Volca series, so fairly throwaway. I wouldn't expect a version 2, more likely something completely different that yet again manages to not include something most of us deem fairly obvious. If it does what you want get it and take it for what it is. May...

The reissue is a pretty faithful emulation of the original. Some guitar players were annoyed with it because of a perceived volume drop when engaging the pedal. I would think this would be much less of an issue for use with synths.

I have an AS-1 but don't have a P2 and haven't heard a live side by side comparison. But I will agree with you that the AS-1 sounds amazing, and definitely has enough of that Prophet flavor to satisfy me. It is a Prophet. It's a really nice synth. Unfortunately, I think people are going to pass it b...
