Re: Dreadbox Ataxia Level Input
Just tested this out on mine. A trigger fed from Mutable Yarns to the level input actually prevented the envelope from firing at all (I guess since it goes to 0V immediately after firing, so the level went to zero); taking the velocity CV affected the level of the envelope produced as you'd expect, ...

Just a note: the Rossum Trident is analog, not digital.

I'm in town and bought a case this past year, and offered to meet them to pick it up what with Everything. Nope, John insisted on delivering it to me himself. Great place, great service.

spukhaft--maybe you can help clear up for us which input you're talking about? I thought you meant (B) in the picture below, but perhaps you meant (A).

Re: Dreadbox Hysteria - Question
Don't have one, but iirc from watching videos on it that slider does PWM on the pulse wave and varies the shape on some others--the ones without dots next to them, I think?--when those waveforms are active.

Hrm, I just tried it out and it up and downloads it without so much as one of those "really download this?" dialogs, at least in Firefox. Weird. Sorry for the confusion.

Re: Shift pitch CV timing?
What you seem to want is a shift register, but with way more stages than a typical one has. Maybe knowing what is called will help you search at least? I wish you success!

Re: Modules indispensable for drone
Doepfer A-138m and A-128, especially if you mult the signal before the FFB and mix it back in after. Lots of mixers in general, in fact. Rossum Evolution--all those CV inputs! I also like effects not at the end of the chain for drones, too--reverbs do interesting things placed elsewhere in a patch.

I'll have a look at that, thanks!Modulus wrote: ↑Fri Dec 11, 2020 10:45 amOsmose + EaganMatrix would be a good option for this. Re: Anyma Phi - Physical modeling synthesizer by Aodyo
I think maybe a lot of people's tacit mental model of how you make a synth polyphonic is based on poly analogs: you have some set of chips that make up a voice, then you have a few of those and some kind of master control board and voila. DSP stuff isn't like that. Your chip has to deliver a certain...

Re: Dreadbox - Typhon
I waffled on getting one for a while; I was afraid it'd feel redundant since I already have an Erebus v3 and Nyx v2. Nope! Glad I bought it. Dreadbox is really great at making instruments each have their own feel to them.

Re: Voltage droop using Doepfer A151 switch?
Doepfer mention exactly this issue on the page for the A-151: Technical note: To protect the electronic switches in case of an unsuitable patch (e.g. connection of two outputs) a 1k protection resistor is inserted into the O/I line. If control voltages used for VCOs are switched this may cause a sma...

Re: Joranalogue MORPH 4 - Dimensional Modulation Array
One thing about that panel I don't get: the inputs are labeled +5, A, B, and C; no section for D? Also that implies the inputs are offset from the knobs in their section. Is that right?
edit: I see now, it's indicating what the normalled input signal is for that section.

Re: Dreadbox - Typhon
That ProckGnosis guy seems to have some access to the company (he did a factory tour video once and has been covering them since the Murmux days), so I lean toward believing what that guy on the Internet said as opposed to what the other guy on the Internet said. Too bad; I'd start saving now if the...

Re: Dreadbox - Typhon
I like all the demos and have become a big Dreadbox fan, but I'll probably hold off on this since I already have an Erebus v3 and a Nyx v2, and how many analog monosynths from the same company does a man really need (blasphemy, I know). On the other hand, I sort of hope the analog voice structure ma...

Re: Bread and Butter Analog Oscillators in 2020
I'd say Dixie II+ or WMD/SSF Spectrum. Agree with others that STO is wonderful but not really a bread and butter oscillator, but in addition to what everyone else is saying I'd add that it has just killer sync sounds.

Anybody with experience and opinion about playing erebus 3 nyx 2 with CV, works just fine or problemtic? Also, i dont think so, but is there a chance to put out Midi from CV like the minitaur could do (CV to Midi converting)? Just got an Erebus v3 and it's a beautiful instrument. The oscillators ar...
