Re: Using the synth to mask background noise

Patching is certainly a fun solution but perhaps consider talking to the neighbor, landlord, or if it’s a serious noise issue, the police?

Re: Looking for unusal machines, like Folktek Resonant Garden

I’m guessing you’re not looking for strictly electroacoustic? In that case - Soma Lyra? Anything Ciat Lonbarde or Lorre Mill? Once you’re looking for something like the Erica drone, why not just a small euro or 4u rig? I reckon you’d be quite happy with a single Serge row if the Erica strikes your f...

Re: VoiCas Ledrover powercable, watch out!

^ I’d accept that I’m in the minority, but the last few euro rigs I had didn’t require any 5v power. I had 16-pin boards but I definitely didn’t need them.

Re: VoiCas Ledrover powercable, watch out!

Every cable I've seen till now mating a 10pin with the 16pin connector has the 10 pins to 1 side of the 16 pin connector so the 10 pins will slot into 1 end of the socket on the powerstrip and not in the middle. Are you saying this module is differently wired from all other modules I've encountered...

Re: VoiCas Ledrover powercable, watch out!

It should be obvious that you can’t just plug it wherever but you absolute can mate a 10 pin cable with a 16 pin header, shrouded header be damned. It’s certainly not “dangerous as fuck” and the seller really does not deserve your ire.

Re: VoiCas Ledrover powercable, watch out!

There’s nothing to go wrong if you pay attention to what you’re doing. Never assume the red stripe means anything beyond a pretty color on an otherwise grey strip. Doing the barest amount of research will save you a lot of future grief.

R*S Carnivore build issue or normal behavior?

Do you have a Carnivore? I built mine up this week and seem to be having some issues with the Slopes/DTG side. I calibrated so I’m getting about 0-5V from all of the outputs. I don’t have a scope, but that’s what my multimeter shows. However, I can’t seem to get the left gate output to reliably trig...

I’d also suggest DIY. The Zlob Attenumix is a cheap PCB/panel set and a simple build.

I was thinking of the synced clock idea. Might be feasible in Max with the Time function and then some clock dividing with Rate.

There’s a great thread on lines about this subject. https://llllllll.co/t/network-music/2160/64

In short, it’s hard and latency is a bear. That latest post on netpd seems promising though.

Re: Learning Random*Source Serge panels

I think it’s worth keeping in mind that these aren’t R*S designs. This is a format with a very long history of DIY and the circuits aren’t really “owned” by R*S in such a way that I’d say it’s incumbent on them to produce a manual, in the same way that Make Noise should produce a Maths manual. They ...

Re: Make Noise 0-Ctrl

One thing that might be cool (sorry if already mentioned) is a sort of 'Power stackable' jumper cable. This way, you can use one power supply for both the 0-Coast and 0-Control. This exists. It's called a daisy chain cable. I don't think power specs are available on the 0-Ctrl though so jury is pro...

This would definitely be easy to do in Max, which would interface well with Ableton. You can get a developer account to see the full API. I’ve done some work where my modular controlled an LIFX bulb in Max.

12v from Resonant EQ: Dangerous?

I was fooling with the oscilloscope today and noticed that my R*S Res Eq was putting out signals as high as 12v with the feedback up. Is there any risk in sending signals this hot into other modules, like the VCM or out to my mixer? How can I mitigate the risk? The manual also confirms this. . Outpu...
