Re: Behringer 2600

I find it subtly different, but then again I wasn't using my OG 2600 for that type of sounds back in the days, although the last bit is rather tasty ...

Re: Mutable Instruments' Stages, or time to get a "real" function-generator?

I own and live stages. It's brilliant for sure, and consider the alternative firmware floating around. So much functionality. But it sure cannot do what my Hexinverter Galilean moons can do and the two of them pair brilliantly... So many different function modules from which to choose! How did you ...

Re: Techno presence & tone

A lot of techno producers used natural distortion of mixer's preamps when Gain control is crancked high (Mackie VLZ in particular, as they were very common in the 90s). Actually, the pre VLZ Mackies... The VLZs do not overdrive much. Well, not as much as the older ones, that was the point of theml ...

Re: Modular as Sample Source for DnB

As much a Braids is amazing, Plaits or even better the original TIDES is my go-to for DnB reeces. Modulate that in OSC mode, use the sub out as well, feeding it into a filter to keep the sub, add that on a mixer to the main Tides out, and hey presto....

Re: Module which unexpectedly blew you away?

Unexpectedly.. i'd say the Nanozwerg Pro. This. Also, TIDES (well, most of Mutable instruments modules actually). Got three so far. It does plenty and everything it does it does it very well. A joy to use. Also, Klavis TWIN WAVES. Tons of functions and waveforms in 8hp, dual Osc with sub out, and a...

Re: Behringer - Introducing the CAT Synthesizer

@eqtoquip, Moog and Arp were the reference at the time. But what you call non-players were the ones selling. A lot. Moog was what Moog is now, a household name that was vastly imitated as not everybody could afford Moog. And to some extent, Korg, Yamaha and such were seen as the Behringer of that ti...

Re: Favorite 2HP (sized) module?

2hp Verb. It sounds very good, even tho there isn't much parameters. What it does, it does well. Stereo. One of the very few modules that really works as 2hp since it isn't the kind of tool you actually tweak much, kind of a set and forget. Great module.

Re: Roland TR-06, TR-6s, TR-606 (cloud)

Then modding a behringer rd-6 with the mods from Maffez is your option. I did it (very simple ones) and it's definitely there. I agree on the TR8 being completely off the mark with the TR606 emulation by the way...

Re: Stands for doepfer cases

Google 'Guitar Combo Stand', and see what shows up. I have one of these for my small keyboard combo, which has also served for my Doepfer A100LC9 case from time to time. This. …is super unhelpful. What brand/model are you recommending? Depends of how low/high you want it really. I had the quilok an...

To be honest, if a real 2600 is anything like the Arturia plug-in, it's not for me. I just can't get into it.
It's the one from arturia that really sounds weak to me. There was this thing called "timewArp" ages ago that was so much better... 32bits only.

Re: Neutron The New Behringer Semi-Modular Synthesizer

Very late to the game, I got myself a Neutron. I expected it to be good considering the price but it's good, period. And great considering the price. Feels sturdy, fun to patch, edgy sound. I really like it. Fantastic starting point for anyone who's looking at getting into modular synths. As previo...
