The Zularic will do that. As will the Numeric. Different flavors. I wish they were combined into a single module.

Re: Five12 Vector vs Frap Tools USTA

Even once “real time recording” comes to Vector, there’s some question of what it will actually look like. Vector isn’t an infinite piano roll like in a DAW—you’ve got a finite number of steps to work with. Vector doesn’t have UI for “sliding notes around” like on a DAW piano roll, either (for corre...

Re: First multiple compact EG: Stages, Quadrax, Quadigy, others?

If you’re buying an multi-EG specifically for shaping notes (modulating filter cutoff and/or VCA—the East Coast model) and you are working with variable length gates then an ADSR makes a lot of sense over an ASR/AR: you get a lot more expressive options. In this scenario, it’s gonna be very hard to ...

Re: First multiple compact EG: Stages, Quadrax, Quadigy, others?

IMO, your point about menus versus knob-per-function is an important one, but it’s also important where the menus are, and where the knobs are. The former can be okay for set-and-forget, but not for things you’re going to want to grab or tweak a lot. That said, you seem to be considering some wildly...

Am I correct that the GTx mode for a trigger out (where x is one of the “regular” sequencers) just gives you the same output you get from the gate jack (like a mult)?

Re: Cwejman ADSR's impact on sound

If somebody in the NYC area has an ADSR-VC2 they’d be willing to loan me for a couple days, I’d be up for shooting an ADSR comparison/exploration video with scope and sound: I have AJH ADSRs and a Quadigy (with which I can hypothetically match any ADSR curvature shape pretty closely). Might be inter...

I’m delighted to see the increase in CV support on devices that wouldn’t have it a few years ago.

I do wish they’d put the jacks on top, instead of on the back, though. Patching is an active sport.

Re: Beautiful oscillators and where to find them!

One interesting way to look at this “segment” of oscillators is how much of “a world unto themselves” they are. Two extreme examples: a super conventional basic oscillator isn’t much good on its own, whereas you can almost perform an entire set on an oscillator like the 4ms Ensemble or the Polygogo,...

Re: New Module: Rabid Elephant NATURAL GATE

I think I used the exact words "fairy dust" for what it has that other LPGs don't, once :hihi: Perhaps, but I’m not buying it. I can get pretty similar results using Optomix and my own (fiddly) envelopes—not including the “memory effect” unless, maybe, I bend over backwards to use an AJH envelope o...

Is there a cool way to make use of the envelopes without loosing a channel? Thats the main thing i miss i guess. Maybe with env follower? Not that I can see. Self patching possibilities? I didnt find examples of audiorate modulations, in theory cool in actual use not so much? You can send low audio...

Re: Xaoc Devices Sarajewo: Syncable Analog Delay Line prototype

Does anyone have guess about how the "Ext Feedback Loop" jack functions? There only appears to be one jack, and not a separate input and output. I'm guessing that's the input to the front of the loop? The EXT FEEDBACK LOOP is an input. Given the four separate outputs on the module, I expect the ide...

I got three pages into the survey and stopped because every question that far was, in my opinion, pointless.

Every Eurorack producer has their own disposition on all these matters, they don’t all match, and that’s ok. That’s Eurorack.

Re: Cwejman ADSR's impact on sound

So do you think that all ADSR's are exactly identical in the way they modulate? And if not is it possible that one might have a more pleasing effect than another? Nah, they’re certainly not all identical , but in the end, they’re still ADSRs. There’s some room for nuance in implementation. If you’r...

The samplers and sample players are all organized here for the 10,000 ft view:
https://doudoroff.com/samplers/

Samplers are the first table, players are the second table. The ones that have the type “file player” are the most probable candidates, although some will obviously not be good fits.

Re: Sequencer with a single fader?

The WMD Voltera for Metron functions this way, and can record a rather large number of steps (256) but, alas, the ergonomics are quite the opposite of what you are wanting. Might have been much better with a single slider and four buttons instead of four knobs and one button.

Re: Battle of the modern day 2018/2019 sequencer

I wouldn't say my concern about ER-101/102 is that they look tricky. It's that there just aren't enough controls. I can't quite wrap my head around the idea of dialing in every single note and CV via a pair of encoders being "easy". Simple, yes, and fairly powerful, but it just looks painful to use...
