Re: Dave Smith hints at Sequential Prophet 5 Rev4/Prophet 10
My dealer still hasn't delivered my keyboard version, nor does he answer my emails :bang: Now that I see there is a desktop version, I dropped him an email to cancel the "pre"order. Maybe I go for the desktop version or an entirely different polysynth. The mono output still bugs me . Wha...

I chime in. Use VCAs only for volume control, and you'll miss most of the fun of modular
No need to list what you can do with them. I think all has been said.

Re: Befaco CV Thing, MIDI notes totally off
Yep, agreed it is confusing in the manual. Glad you seemed to have got it sorted. Had the same issues when I built my VCMC. Wasn't able to setup the -5V to +5V range. Although you can set CV Thing to that bipolar range, instead of 0-10V - Set Voltera to C-3 (-3V, I believe that correlates to 2V in ...

Re: Befaco CV Thing, MIDI notes totally off
You need to run through the calibration procedure in the global settings. It is in the manual: https://befaco.org/docs/CV_Thing/CV_Thing_V1_User_Manual.pdf Also once calibrate you may have to adjust the CV Delay settings (at least I did on mine) to get the midi notes to trigger at the correct time....

Re: Making the Drumbrute sound better
If you don't fall in love with the basic sound character of the Drumbrute, I don't think you're going to ever love it, no matter what effects you slap on it. Maybe you just have to admit to yourself, that you need ditch it and get another one.

Befaco CV Thing, MIDI notes totally off
Hi I tried to set up the Befaco CV Thing to play the Minimoog synth via MIDI by my Metron/Voltera. But no matter what I do, the notes played by the synth is always off the charts. For example when I play C5 (Voltera at 5V), I get a E3 (!??) while the Minimoog's oscillator is set to 8' I went thru th...

Re: Need plain-vanilla multi-LFO for panning—most bang-for-the-buck?
Also consider this: You you won't be able to set any frequency with Pam, it will be always clocked (a division or a multiplication of the clock). These are good points. In fact considering these I would just go with Batumi. Very easy to have multiple synced or free sine LFOs in or out of phase. Bat...

Re: Need plain-vanilla multi-LFO for panning—most bang-for-the-buck?
Pam’s is unipolar and the Pan CV inputs on the PM are bipolar, not unworkable but something to consider. THIS ^ Also consider this: You you won't be able to set any frequency with Pam, it will be always clocked (a division or a multiplication of the clock). For example there are just a very slow LF...

Re: Sequencer less than 30hp?
Only downside to the steppy is that you only get quarter notes out of it....you have to either run your clock through a 4x multiplier(or run the BPM 4x's higher....which isn't ideal or always possible depending on your clock's max bpm) My Steppy runs at 16th notes. That's the standard I had when cl...

Re: New WMD Performance Mixer
I use the 1/8” phones output for monitoring. But isn't that subpar, because HP outputs are designed for low impedance headphones? :hmm: I’m using powered monitors, is that even an issue? Sounds fine to me, I’ve got the main outs going to a 4ms Wav, and it’s just easier for me to listen to it this w...

Re: New WMD Performance Mixer
Yeah, the DB25 expander certainly seems a good candidate for a back-of-the-rack install. I was reading back into the thread and its seems the price of admission for a DB25 interface is rather high, starting at about $1,500 (i.e., the PreSonus Quantum 4848). Surely there's a ≈$500 DB25 interface out...

Re: New WMD Performance Mixer
Mines plugged into an intellijel 1U outs mounted right above it. I’m thinking of getting the DB25 output module for it. Problem is how much those DB25 cables stick up. I might whack a hole in the back of my case and mount it there instead! I can't measure it right now, but I'd guess they stick out ...

Re: Patchbay appreciation thread
Not to mention doubling 48 1/4" I/Os on the back with insert cables has the potential to create an unholy mess of spaghetti which might intimidate even the most foolhardy of modular synthesists. Would not want to have to troubleshoot or de-rack that bay. :hihi: You don't wanna go back there a...

Re: Patchbay appreciation thread
No, you could go TRS out of patchbay to dual TS (eg into two mono mixer channels). But this is using the TRS as a stereo connector, not as a balanced connector. It's interesting, but I have enough bay channels/cables go just go discrete TS for all L/R channels, and don 't know enough about the elec...

Extralife Super sixteen in 20HP: https://store.extralifeinstruments.com/ Maybe not what your looking for but the interface really is quite simple. You have 16 step buttons (but can have more steps if wanted). You click on a button and then edit the steps parameter with the knobs and the encoder. I ...
