Re: Behringer 2600
there was a post on GS, where someone received a response from B that the quote in the video about upgraded components in the blue/grey model referred to comparing it to the original, not compared to the standard B2600. https://www.gearslutz.com/board/showpost.php?p=15247763&postcount=125 I'd be su...

Re: Behringer 2600
This is sheer speculation above. We need to hear from Behringer or someone reliable who has opened one up. My understanding of the history is that the Blue and Gray had especially high quality op amps in the signal path, and that these were replaced with a lower cost part for the original mass produ...

Re: Behringer 2600
Has anybody analyzed the difference in smd parts used in the Korg 2600FS and the Behringer 2600. Give there both are smd id be curious what it is that makes such a perceived difference in them. It’s going to come down to the quality of the components used in the audio path. Original Blue Marvins an...

Re: convolution reverb in eurorack?
Not sure if this has enough horsepower for convolution reverbs, but I have one of these on the way. It allows making eurorack modules by programming in Supercollider or pd or C. My initial plan is to use it as a reverb when patching and I don’t want to fire up the DAW etc just to reverb a patch in d...

Re: Deep Learning and modular synths
I have some background here as an academic and artist, "Concluding, it's a black box. Input: sound --> Output: most similar patch + parameters." Deep Learning is probably not the right tool for this task. At least not easily. It will require supervised learning, which means you need training data th...

Re: Salt - Bela powered programmable Eurorack module
With the Salt/Bela the first divide is the programming language. There’s Supercollider, pd (aka pure data), cSound, as the main ones. Pd is a visual node based tool, Supercollider is a text language. But then in each there are objects that are roughly like synth modules. The knobs and panel I/O have...

Re: Salt - Bela powered programmable Eurorack module
I just ordered a Salt, and an extra couple weeks will be added to the delivery time because the Bela folks are closing the office for vacations. But I'm hoping someone out there is using theirs and interested in this thread. I've used SuperCollider before, and having looked at some Salt sample code ...

Re: Behringer ARP 2500 modules
There were also feature mistakes the 2600 boilerplate that found its way into various announcement articles. And these were for features that *never* appeared in the ARP 2600…but possibly in the AMS enhanced clones. e.g. a filter switch for high pass mode. To me these look like mistakes rather than ...

Re: Behringer ARP 2500 modules
Is it a mistake? No. Is it inaccurate? Yes. Here is a less obvious question for anyone who knows. The Behringer press releases mention the original ARP "keyboard percussion" mode as if it exists on their version of the module even though the front panel is missing the knobs and inputs of the origin...

Re: Behringer ARP 2500 modules
Does anyone know the status of the 1047 Multimode Filter? That’s the one I want, even though it doesn’t have the keyboard percussion feature the original had. It's available for preorder now on Thomann. Ive picked up the first few that have been released but have yet to rack them. Waiting until i c...

I have both and no way the Hydrasynth can displace the O’Tool+. It’s missing almost every feature other than showing a single UN-calibrated wave.

Re: Behringer: practices, ethics, morals and legitimacy.
Statistics don't lie. But statsiticians do. <--Whether by intent or error. Initial or derived. An error alone is not a lie. A lie requires intent to tell a falsehood as a truth. It's fairly easy to create a poll that elicits the desired answers. … So what is it when this is done unintentionally? St...

FWIW someone with hands on access measured the sliders on a B2600 and they are 45mm. I had estimated 50mm from photo measurements and extrapolation.

When you are selling 5 figure modular systems, figuring out a way to sell low 3 figure modules without cannibalizing system sales is difficult.

Thanks for these ideas. I actually have a couple Disting, but missed the through zero bit!
The FM Aid looks pretty interesting. I’ll probably get one if I can find one.

I started my eurorack system with a SV-1, then added to it. My suggestion is to hold off and add modules when you keep finding yourself needing A specific function with some frequency.

A through-zero FM VCO that is 4 hp?
Subject pretty much asks the question. I’m looking for a through-zero FM VCO that is only 4 hp wide.
Even if out of production, if such a thing has existed I’d be interested in hearing about it.

Re: Korg 2600 Mini
FWIW my measurements were made based on the size of the MS-20 Mini I have. I believe the K2600 Mini is designed for 19” rack compatibility. I would be surprised if the sliders are 42 mm, but it’s possible I was off by a few mm.

Re: Korg 2600 Mini
So using the photo and my own Korg Mini MS-20, I took various ruler measurements trying to allow for perspective in the photo, and came up with this… Total width of unit = 19 inches (!) Apparent slider travel (ie length of slot) = 38.5 mm I wouldn't stake my life on these. I'm pretty confident of th...

Re: Korg 2600 Mini
For live improvisation a tiny 2600 might be just the thing. Easy to carry/move. For live stuff all those sliders are helpful.
