there is also the newer but not much discussed Cosmotronic Delta V mk2 which brings the essence of the DUSG concept to 10hp. I really want one or two.

Re: Sequencers with ramp control

if you're cool with encoders, Tetrapad with Tête in Voltage Banks mode can do voltage addressed stages (ie drive the sequence phase when a ramp or whatever you like). as to the original post: I find sequencers with a clock input + VC addressing of stage to be best, especially if they will sample the...

Re: Starthief's Eurorack adventure, 2016-???

that's kind of the thing with Odessa in general, for me as well : "interesting, but not sure if it's something I would use". I take it as a challenge of sorts. also bear in mind that I just recorded direct to audio interface from Odessa here. VCAs, filters, FX, and not to mention any shred of musica...

Re: Starthief's Eurorack adventure, 2016-???

I hear you on Odessa but I've come to love mine. what is lacking right now are demos of how a light touch of fm completely transforms Odessa. I'll throw something up on Soundcloud soon as well to show what I mean Go for it :) Everything thats fm'ed is interesting. yeah so here you go, a technical d...

Re: Starthief's Eurorack adventure, 2016-???

while i wait for shapeshifter v2. Don't hold your breath. They've already said there's no concrete plans for one. jjclark mentioned some ideas he had at one point but none of them were really shapeshifter v2, more like a next-gen FPGA based crazy oscillator thing. Id like a fpga based crazy oscilla...

Re: WMD C4RBN - New state variable filter/wavefolding

95% of my system is silver and I prefer the silver aesthetic, so I was hoping for a silver panel option. Maybe we’ll see a Greyscale panel someday... or I could just place it to the left of my Micro Hadron Collider. It would blend in nicely, right? my solution for this kind of ocd dilemma is to ded...

Re: Starthief's Eurorack adventure, 2016-???

Thanks a bunch guys, awesome suggestions. Fm aid seems pretty rad, i never much looked into it, but listening now. Pretty darn deep fm/pm. I Actually have tides 2018, its my favorite osc :D never did think about the ratio outputs to use for fm of other oscs. Im must be retarded. Id really like your...

Re: Starthief's Eurorack adventure, 2016-???

Besfar, I can strongly recommend Tides (2018 is best) + FM Aid + any analog oscillator with a sawtooth output. you can get precise frequency ratios with the Tides that are locked to the "carrier" oscillator's phase, with FM Aid allowing the Tides to phase modulate the carrier. if you have a "carrier...

Re: Five12 Vector vs Frap Tools USTA

having tested both out, for me Vector is the obvious choice. especially because I want to sequence MIDI as well as CV+gate and Vector's interface and level of complexity is nearly perfect to me. it's like a Cirklon stripped down to mostly the best parts of it that I care about. the only sticking poi...

Re: Xaoc Zadar, Quadruple Envelope Generator + Nin expander

Some people have speculated further back that "wear" in this case would just be oxidation and that using them or not is irrelevant. this would align with my experience, where the encoder that was replaced re-developed the same issue after 6 months (half of which I was not even in the same city as m...

Re: Xaoc Zadar, Quadruple Envelope Generator + Nin expander

to be clear: Xaoc knows about the issue and has mentioned that it is a case of the encoders' mechanical wear and tear being, in a sense, "amplified" by the acceleration detection algorithm that Zadar uses (and it is a particularly radical acceleration detection algorithm, which allows you to travers...

schlappi 100 grit has the plague bearer spirit in spades as just one of several great tricks it does. and then can be a moog style ladder filter when that's all you want

Re: Frap Tools Brenso

it's important to remember that none of these other analog complex oscillators in the 259 tradition have a through-zero implementation of their linear FM. only Brenso. and this makes a world of difference.

correct me if I've missed another that does.

Mind that while in Editing mode everything you change on the interface and internal settings is immediately saved to ther preset for that session. YOu will need to save all presets from the menue if you want them to stay like that when powering down or, on the other hand, your presets are save whil...

cool, thank you! similar topic : I think it would be handy if the assignable A/B pressure output in Voltage Banks mode (the original sequencable one, not the mini one in Combo Mode) could still track pressure when you're in the bank edit menu. this would make it possible to still "play" the pressure...

Re: Intellijel Tetrapad

I am very curious if anyone with a Tete could confirm that the Pressure output that you can assign to the Tete's A or B output in Combo Mode works as expected when it is coming from pad assigned to perform as Voltage Banks. in the case of mine, the pressure output appears to be sampled (from whateve...

well, it's pretty new, and hit the market at a slightly less fortunate time than those others. I think it's brilliant. Quadrax, Zadar, Kermit MkIII are all amazing quad modulators for different reasons, can definitely recommend all three. Kermit MkIII reminds me of Waldorf modulation matrices but ma...

Re: Frap Tools Brenso

a few questions for Brenso owners or for Frap Tools: - with the Integrator fully clockwise (so the green oscillator tracks the yellow oscillator's pitch CV as quickly as possible), does the green oscillator still have any audible lag/slew? I've found it a bit frustrating on the DPO that its equivale...

Re: Piston Honda MKIII dual morphing wavetable oscillator

as mentioned, the pitch lag now is about 3 milliseconds compared to an analog oscillator. I can now say with full confidence that I don't hear any delayed pitch shifting artifacts when I send it through a vca with a zero-attack envelope, even compared to my Dixie. ymmv I guess. for what it's worth, ...
