Re: Noise musicians: How do you release your work?
Making a tape with bizzarro artwork is half the fun of what makes noise noise. agreed, and then trading said tape for someone elses bizzarro tape. while i do listen to noise from bandcamp and youtube for convenience, it's mostly stuff that's either oop or too expensive to ship from the states. i do...

Re: General noise discussion (releases, shows, techniques)
Also I'm going to be lazy as fuck and quote some releases from other people's posts. Sorry not sorry. i love noise, and listen to a lot of meat & potatoes stuff but it's just as genrefied as any style of music. if we're comparing, noise is like punk. now and then a new style or sound emerges that so...

General noise discussion (releases, shows, techniques)
In stead of investing time and energy to discuss the credibility of noise (which has already been discussed a million times over, we already know most people don't like it, you are not original) what's better than to discuss noise releases, new & old tapes/CDs/LPs, noise shows you've played or seen ...

Re: Zip drives, USB sticks. Do you trust them?
WORM media or NO media! Joking aside, what a weird question, neither is build for backup nor long term storage and the later is obsolete and shouldn't even be considered. If you really want to go for a flash based backup solution, SSD's are okay for approx. 5 to 8 years if you are not doing anything...

Lot's of jazzrock / freejazzmetal thingies go with at least one electric bass so was asking to be sure!

Re: Music you sort of get but can't get get into
Noise. I get it, but i think i need to be at least 30 years younger to be into it. It's kind of the same with much of the EBM music, i used to love it but its a little too "edgy" or whatever, something you like when young and angsty. You are not wrong but especially nowadays there is so much noise ...

Re: Behringer Swing
Now think about it in terms of the synth economy: (this is oversimplification for the sake of argument) If you have a company that swoops in every time you make a successful product and creates the same product for a lower price, how attractive is it to even try to create something for a new compan...

Re: $99 Behremin anyone?
As long as there are CV outputs I might buy it for only that. Really liked the dual Doepfer A-178 Theremin Controllers I had in my Eurorack system and it's a shame I only recorded a few tunes before departing them, as I really liked playing with them! If finances allows I might even consider getting...

My suggestion is to find and contact a local printer/screen printing shop, so it's much easier to communicate your wishes and try out the fabrics. Also, support local!

Not myself, but a friend of mine had very good stories! Although hearing him there also was much drama going on, people being scamed, hah seems wild places attract wild people!

Also, here is some more recent music drone stuff: Sounds interesting! Let us know when you release the full tape. Will you make a physical tape??? Please! I'll see what I can do! For now it's a digital mixtape with the music of others + lots of samples, so if you like to give it a listen se...

Re: Cassette Ambient Drone Swap-Share Thread
Hey hey sorry for all the delays, the magazine is currently on-hold in favour of some other projects and personal life. Of course, I am still going to work on it in when in the future when I have some time for it again and still have a good feeling about it will be released. Meanwhile I am starting ...

Ever been to a punk concert and not seen the artist sweat?
Simplicity or maybe rather a rudimentary approach to sound or structure does not mean no effort.

Re: structure in noise
His algorithm was basically a) select a sound source, b) input sound source into a massive pedal chain c) record it straight to tape. I'd personally want to listen to something composed and structured than somebody just running a cassette into a pedal chain and recording it. I don't think you need ...

Deadline recs yeah? Not really, when I got to know it he released shoddy overpriced CD-Rs and now....I'm still not really interested in it. He has a way of making releases look really cheap. I rather spend my money on something more interesting.

Re: Why is some techno good and some bad?
Same as most genres actually, but the motifs are generally more restricted than many other genres, which is another factor in what makes good techno hard to make. Hasn't this more to do with the current frame of time? What was called Techno in 1996 or 1998 was (often) a lot less restrictive and had...
