Re: Why are people selling Mutable Instruments?

True. She has said that about the hype of Clouds and did list a bunch of ways to use it that she felt that people hadn't explored much. I've never seen any attitude about the use of her code, though. Or the use of any of her other modules. I'm indebted to Emilie's generosity in open-sourcing the mo...

a TZVCO can be implemented with a wavefolder followed by a sine shaper.

I have this, the first input is normalized to the second input, but the outputs are not normalized to mix together.
Bummer, what a missed opportunity. Thanks for the info!

Not easy to obtain? If you think writing an email to John (mungo) and transferring money is hard, I guess you are right.
Even if that's a straightforward process, it's not the same level of safety as dealing with a well known retailer that's open about their return policy etc.

does this idea even makes sense ? to my understanding it does not. no better input to add.....;) Of course it makes sense -- the DPO's wavefolder even has a STRIKE-able vactrol built in! You can patch this by using an LPG as an envelope generator, and then sending the resulting vactrol envelope to ...

Yes, it'll work, and there's a good chance you won't have to attenuate them -- 5V in this case is probably the minimum, not the maximum. I would expect any gear to handle an extra 7V without problems. Will any attenuator like MI Shades be able to handle 12v gates? It seems some attenuator have range...

It is a wavefolder, not a VCA, so it puts out the original waveform. Good to know, thanks! As I said it is not an op amp input, not really a big deal just tweak the pots so it sounds good. This part of the circuit is true to the original Buchla design, I saw no reason to change it. Not to be pushy ...

The CV pots affect the folding, whether or not you have a CV signal patched in. In most circuits, the signals from the Timbre pot and the CV pot would go to an op amp input and would be unable to noticeably affect each other, but this is a Buchla based design and the CV pot acts as a voltage divide...

http://wiki.openmusiclabs.com/wiki/Sinulator VCA MOD is a VCA on AUDIO IN, not on MOD IN? That's a bizarre naming choice. Not really. The amplitude of the input waveform is what determines the number of folds. Adding a VCA before the input gives you voltage-controlled attenuation, and therefore vol...

http://wiki.openmusiclabs.com/wiki/Sinulator The Sinulator performs the following mathematical function: AUDIO OUT = sin(A*(n*B+j)+(m*D+k)), where A is "AUDIO IN", B is "VCA CV", D is "MOD IN", and the pot settings are m for "MOD AMOUNT", k for "MOD OFFSET", n for "VCA MOD AMOUNT", and j for "VCA MO...

Natural Gate, Streams, DPLPG, 0hp Vactrol LPG and Gerridae are all DC-coupled for sure. Sputnik Quad VCF/VCA is AC-coupled. I'm honestly not sure about the others I've us...
