I use it lately on snare drum... gives good Variations in the repeats sorta Like a drummeR, when you modulate delay speed

Re: 1010music Bluebox - Compact Digital Mixer/Recorder

Im looking forward to taking this little thing all around my studio to record & process tracks from instruments from all the way across the room with great ease & minimal fuss. Or to a friends place to collab on tracks on the spot, wherever we’re at. With a little battery pack & mic pre pack this th...

Recently realized Im not that into the Erbe verb, looking for alternates... so far I love the sound of the Desmodius Versio best...seems to have a very versatile sonic quality... like it can go fm standard plates etc to galactic fantasy....and being able to reflash the thing to be a diff module alto...

Re: Modern Cassette Recorders

Everyones different. Nostalgia is a big part of music for many, hence the romance / affinity with older things, older technologies. I like putting in the tape, finding the mark & hitting record. No screens. No files/folders. I like the time it takes to rewind & FF. The beauty is that we have all the...

I have a couple older models that work fantastically; the Tascam 302 double deck, as the single deck Tascam 112 mk2. The latter is my favorite. Sound quality is top notch. No issues in 10 years of use

I just put in a preorder for a white one... Im excited to pair this up with the new ISLA S2400. I think its gonna be a pretty stoopid combination, esp w/the ‘classic’ sp1200 sampling rate mode... I forsee a lotta filthy & downright mean & nasty grooves :guinness:

I recently picked up a Serge Sequencer 8 XL, and I must say that it interacts extremely well with the VMS. Its adding a different set of dimensions to my sequencing. I would highly recommend it if you have the space In your case & the coin

Brad said yesterday or so that they’re still getting thru the orders placed in the first few days, 300 or so... I also ordered mine at The end of Sept, so I imagine I’ll have to wait at least til the end of February, if it comes sooner then 🎉 🥳 🙌, But I wouldnt count on it

Output A is treated as left, B as right...

A/B channel inputs are normalled - eg channel A1 is mirrored to B1. That way mono signals get panned with the two faders. Stereo pairs should be plugged L->A / R->B
 Thanks! I will try it out! This would make my day

Re: IO Instruments (modules from berlin)

Silly question, but here goes... I bought a Sponde to use as an End mixer, hoping to be able to send a Stereo summed output to my Befaco Output module For 2-trk recording/Monitoring, but all I get are 2 mono signals at the Befaco end, A on the right & B on the Left. In the Sponde manual it says it c...

If it aint fun, Im done. In short.

Times the Master though... if 6 months has passed Im barely using it, its gotta go. Its refreshing to let stuff go, making way for new possibilities. Ive not regretted selling anything, not yet at least

Re: ISLA Instruments SP-2400

Stereo is nice, but a bit overrated in my opinion. Especially since working with an SP1200, whose output sums to mono, I’ve come to really appreciate working with monophonic outputs. I find them to be a bit more flexible to work with, esp when multitracking

Re: Organic drums?

Dont sleep on the Verbos Multi Delay. You can send a single hat or plucked tone & get 9 repeats at different volumes, & if you modulate the delay time Just right you will get a ton of variation... its got 3 inputs too, some other cool features....but I was blown away first time I plugged Rings into ...

How does it behave if you do not patch a cable to the CV input but only to some Ins. Will you hear something on the outs?
You could patch an offset from a faderbank type module & that will open the VCA, or a unipolar voltage from an envelope generator, this will open the VCA as well.

Re: Good place to buy shakuhachi!!!

I played for 8yrs, its a difficult instrument but very rewarding. My 1st one cost around $120. It was single piece bamboo with natural bore (no bore, just naked bamboo). It was a very good starter. I would recommend getting something simple & inexpensive to start with, just to get yourself used to b...

Re: Verbos Multi Delay Help

Its a very fun & unusual delay, I have one. The sliders control the volume of the taps, so if you only want one or two taps, just raise the respective sliders. It has a pitch shifter you can dial in, and a fantasy style reverb you can dial in too, each with an input where you can basically combine 3...

I second the Verbos Multistage, goes well with the Sequence Selector. Switches & sliders, very tactile & yields lots of fun surprises. No quantizing, but after playing around you may realize you dont need one

Re: How does Optomix compare to the LxD for Buchla Bongo type percussive sounds?

Ive found the LXD to be more Of an instant gratification piece, while the Optomix requires more tweaking, options are wider for shaping the sound. I think the LxD is also a resonant LPG, whereas the Optomix is not, IIRC....this would account for much of the character difference between the twi

I just got one & I like it. Was a bit tricky fitting a Magneto in there with all its PCBs protruding out but I got it in just fine. At the ends the height of the top row narrows a bit, so you gotta wrestle with it a little, but with Some gentle tact, its no big deal, again. No issues with modules at...
