Re: Not having dedicated LFOs
My Doepfer A-143-3 quad LFO (without reset) is potentially my most used module. Most of my oscillators double as lfos, I have two maths, and a quadrax. All of which can do LFO work. But, the A-143-3 is much more immediate (I don't need to look up how to make a triangle wave), and easier to dial in w...

Re: HW and SW sequencer with eurorack
I have an ES-3 that's gotta be close to 10 years old now, and it's never skipped a beat. I use Numerology as my main sequencer, and they work great together.

Anyone that wants to send me $3k a piece for my Cwejman modules is welcome to them.cafe-de-la-jungle wrote: ↑Mon Apr 27, 2020 5:49 amI think it entirely depends on the price you pay. I just saw yesterday a cwejman filter on modulargrid with a 3000$ price.

Re: What OSC are on yr radar?
Another VCO-6, but that may never happen. Outside of that, maybe the Rossum Trident, or a Piston Honda MKIII. But that would be my 4th wavetable oscillator.

Anyone using Numerology on MacOS Catalina?
I tried making a post on the five12 forum, but I didn't get any responses. I'm itching to get a new Mac, but everything is shipping with Catalina, and I can't test drive it on my current computer. All my other applications are compatible, but Numerology is the only one I'm worried about. And, it's m...

Re: Distortion through doepfer a138B
Did you look at it to see if something looks smoked? That's one of the simplest circuits is eurorack. Aside from the jacks, it's a quad op-amp and a couple resistors. If you blew the op-amp, you could replace it for a few bucks (probably). Doepfer stuff is usually socketed, so you just swap it out.

Voltage controlled polarizing mixers?
I have a Doepfer A-138c polarizing mixer. It's great for making interesting shapes from LFO's and envelopes. But, there's no CV inputs. I'm looking for a version of it that has voltage control for the input polarity. Didn't see anything from Doepfer. Any suggestions?

Re: Intellijel Quadrax
I got a Quadrax recently and it has the 12bit DAC. I did the firmware update, and I've been trying hard to hear any sort of audible glitching using it, but have been unable to. It's working perfectly, in my opinion. And what a great module it is. :) Same here. No glitching to my ears. I haven't bee...

Why not the 200 series? I don’t see the point of jumping into a very forward looking format with the oldest dish in their menu, even as wonderful as it sound...and I’m saying this as an hardcore fan of the Silver Apples Yeah, I'm trying to figure out who this is aimed at. Most people would be inter...

If it's gotta be hardware, get a Korg SQ-1 or three. Then, get some clock dividers, switches, logic modules, and other sequencing utilities. If you don't mind sequencing from a computer, and have an audio interface, get an Expert Sleepers ES-3 (or whatever fits your needs). The added benefit of an E...

(1) $4k-5k I'm guessing. My two Cwejman modules are $1100 of that (probably 1500 in today's market). (2) No regrets, I use my modular in so many ways. Mono-synth, filter-station, just "running shit through it". (3) Just like I manage any other hobby. Don't go overboard, and you'll be fine. (4) I hav...

From what I can tell, JUCE is the top framework for programming plugins. I wrote some test apps with it, and found it pretty easy to get up and running with. Good docs, and decent beginner tutorials. Max Msp is great too. The visual scripting can be augmented with actual C code using gen if you want...

Everyone has the "oh, shiny!" moments with modulars. Especially early on. I haven't bought a new module in a few years, and before that there was another year or so gap. So, eventually that should wear off some. My rack is 9u, and that's all I've ever had. But, I'm STILL finding new avenues to explo...

No hardware needed. But adding a Launchpad really takes it up a notch. Also, the support is fantastic :nana: The launchpad is what makes Numerology really shine, imo. I use two of them, and could probably make use of a third. Once you get used to the workflow, you'll setup your patch on the compute...
