Re: Bionic Lester MK3

... if you modulate the mode at all fast this thing clicks & pops. ... I have noticed clicking when modulating frequency or resonance when the mode is set to Comb but I thought this was a result of the comb filter. Now you have me wondering about mode and if mine clicks when modulating that too? Ei...

Re: Bionic Lester MK3

Is anyone using the BL as a VCA with envelopes controlling the gain? I am getting some pretty serious clicks.

Re: Instruo I-ō47 / Instruo vs. ARP?

... Are any other I-o47 users having trouble with out of control feedback and overdrive? This could be down to the design of the original 1047 filter, but I've found that the Instruo is not necessarily a filter I can tweak carelessly, because with a little too much resonance, a hot input, and espec...

Re: Ableton CV-Tools with Harvestman VCOs

I am just now trying this with CV Tools. How does one exactly offset the pitch coming from CV Instrument? Is this possible in Ableton or do you mean offset it in the modular?

EATyourGUITAR The VCA solution does work just fine. I have already done it, but I would love to use that crucible velocity input. I have already asked about this with the sequencer manufacturer to see if there are options. This sequencer actually has two CV outs per lane and the second has more res...

actually I think your problem is quite the opposite. your WMD is working perfectly but your sequencer is slow to update the changing voltage at the output. the clock is probably some pass through. the CV out, if it is a digital module, is probably just a few computer clock cycles away. it has to ex...

Or I could just run it through a VCA like I said. It’s a much simple and more elegant solution. One WMD unfortunately did not implement. With the physical modelling aspect of the Crucible in mind are you certain that the velocity input isn’t more nuanced than a simple volume control? I’m not saying...

nerdware I appreciate the explanation and suggestion. I am in fact putting the velocity a step before, but I am a simple person using a complicated system and doing this can get quite confusing for me. What I find frustrating is that this module seems to have been designed without thinking of this ...

Has anyone noticed that if you send velocity CV at the same time as a trigger that is actually updates on the next step? I have run into this issue with other digital modules. This is kind of infuriating for precise velocity values.

Hmm... Have you tried striking your LxD or Optomix with higher the 5v? Like 7-10v? It opens the filter more. So, yes, the ZC MKII does get the LPGs ringing, sure, but it does not open them up as much as I would like. There is a whole range of dynamics I cannot reach when using the ZC. Curious: Is t...

I cam here to ask ya'll about driving LPGs, such as the Optomix or LxD with the Zorlon Cannon gates into the a strike input. I find that 5v is a little too weak to get the response from the LPG I would like. 1. I am curious if any of you fine folks have experienced this and figured something out. 2....

I think the clicks and pops are what gets me. I had this same issue, but my brain flipped, I think because other modules did not make clicks and pops quite as well as Tyme Sefari. Though I can't really articulate why. What I do know, is if you are after a clean sound, then Tyme Sefari is not the ri...

Exactly this. I use the WMD Performance mixer and absolutely love it, but what I wish it had would be damn near impossible to have in Eurorack. Looking at the typical analog mixer, you have your signal in, insert fx (not always though), aux send controls, parametric eq (3-4 bands with adjustable q,...

mdoudoroff I'm wondering why you say an outboard mixer is fundamentally incompatible with eurorack. Is it just the lack of cv control, or is it because of something else? All I mean is that there’s no workable way to cram the functionality of a full channel strip into 3U. Exactly this. I use the WM...

Hi Solitud & friends, I brought something up a while back about metadata. Specifically the function field and how users tend to use this field to describe all of the functions of a module. I suggested that it had become extremely difficult to find modules that serve the intended function. There is n...
