Re: Any rule of thumb for used modules?

I just use the search function, why bother reading tons of topics of modules i have no interest in. As for modular grid, i meant the market place there, but MG is a must if you have a big system, i mean you could use pen and paper and plan your system / layout there or just do it "live" IRL, but it ...

Re: Any rule of thumb for used modules?

Some U.S.-based modular stores online have a 10% off coupon code that can be used at any time. I see, but then Americans who buys Eurorack knows this, and most likely they won't buy at 10% off for a used module, i certainly wouldn't, i'd rather buy from someone in the EU then. I did a quick compari...

Re: Any rule of thumb for used modules?

For - msrp I’m referring to the price you see when you look at a store- generally this is what people are referencing to. Which in my experience the store will almost always give 10% off. you bargain with the store? it's totally unheard of for me, maybe it's an American thing. Anyways, price used t...

Buying New is awesome if you love spending extra money for no real benefit.
Basically. Warranty can be nice though, i've had to use it once (a rather expensive module, Atlantis).

Re: Any rule of thumb for used modules?

One common rule of thumb I see - Say it’s listed at 20% off msrp but ignore the reality that its really only 10% off as nearly ever store will give you 10% off msrp Oh and then add PayPal buyer fees, and sometimes shipping so in another make believe reality the seller actually basically looses Not ...

Re: Any rule of thumb for used modules?

I had positive experiences both as seller and buyer on local FB groups (italy). Just ask EXPLICITLY about all the potential problems of the module you're buying. Staying silent is not considered lying (i guess) or they just tell they didn't really notice (noise, loose buttons, wobbly knobs) I doubt...

Re: Any rule of thumb for used modules?

I'm always surprised it's so easy to sell on Ebay/(or even its equivalent - Tradera in Sweden) in comparison to just regular forums where i have way better prices. I've sold off perhaps 50'ish modules in the last 2 years.. My experiences: Muffwiggler - almost impossible to sell even at 50% off, modu...

If you have 1 you have all (though not at once), since you can change to whatever.

Re: Malekko Varigate 8+

Isn't the VG8+ and VB designed for live performance in mind? I ordered one, since there really arent alternatives. Should I cancel it? / If you're aware of the problem i actually don't think there would be much of a problem. Just make sure one button is pressed before the other instead of trying to...

Re: Malekko Varigate 8+

you can easily "crash" it when you use button combinations where you press one button a little earlier than the other, and you're supposed to do it the other way around. If i recall correctly you can get out of it by doing the button press again in the same way (=the wrong way). It's not a module yo...

i really have no idea how that module could be confusing, seems as straightforward as it can get. Labeling makes perfect sense, super clean layout. It's not exactly Maths or MN in general..

Re: Do I really need a quad VCA to start?

I often patch without VCA's completely, probably 9/10 times :P and i have a pretty big system (case in sig + more)... you don't need VCA's, i don't want to say they're overrated because they can be useful, especially if you don't have a lot of full voices (which i do), and it'll probably trigger the...

Re: Newb Drum Trigger question

A "drum module" is a self contained voice with built in VCA, ENV... no reason to use a VCA unless you perhaps want to alter velocity (if it doesn't have that, it's pretty rare.)

I have a thing for white modules, really like the new NLC ones in gold + white. Befaco BF-22 in white would be my choice. Would love an all-white rack, just looks so clean and laboratory-like..

Re: best sequencer with slides?

I've got a couple 303 clones I often use for sequencing, would stepper acid bring much more to the table beyond that? No idea what these clones can do, so hard for me to tell. If they can make your vco glide and if it can do acccent for it too, then not really. stepper acid is very basic. it can sa...

stepper acid, just so much fun to play around just with slides and accent to get something very different. takes seconds to come up with grooves on it, my go-to sequencer for that. sometimes i wish i had kept my second one..

Yeah, you can have fun with that, PNW can do a lot, learn it and Maths, it will take you a while. Good start i think, even more fun with at least 1 more sound source i guess, Disting MK4 covers tons of ground, including that (awesome sample player and wavetable osc).

a percussive envelope into v/oct and pretty much anything is a drum, set the decay to be pretty short, pitch it low (lowest works pretty well).

yeah, the saving seems fucked (im on the mk1 Bitbox). i have a template that i've spent a ton of time with that i want to use for all future saves (i just want to change the samples, not the outputs, modulation settings etc). This does not seem possible. The really fucked up part is that "new" in "F...
