Re: Dual comparator closest to LM311
I like the LM393 quite a bit. I use it in a few circuits. It’s not ultra fast or fancy, but it’s easy to work with, and does its job.

Re: Updated SSI2130 VCO Datasheet available...
It looks like I'm quite late to the party of people that noticed the SSI2131, but I have to say that is the PERFECT IC!! I can't wait to get my hands on it. I've been thinking about simple cores to add my own wave shapers to, and this looks like just the thing. Plus it's easy to work with. Can't wai...

This looks amazing, and I believe the price is completely reasonable. Looking forward to grabbing one.

Re: Behringer 2600
The filter caps can changed easily. In the black b2600 are SMT caps installed, but there are still holes for THT, but they are filled with solder. I installed 4x 10nF LCR 1% caps on separate headers in the 4012 VCF and 4x 1% matched Polypropylene caps in the 4072. It sounds a bit different, I will ...

Re: Tayda what is the consensus?
PPM is a temperature coefficient rating. I'm not sure how much the external materials impact this. I believe that most 1n4148 (and other small signal switching diodes) have fairly thin legs. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Some power and zener diodes have really thick legs I've noticed. I don't ...

Re: Behringer 2600
This is NOT sorted. The B2600 also had mods to the caps used in the filters. Some are saying that “improvements” noted by Keeble are relative to the early 70’s Arps, and all 3 Behringers are the same (except for spring). This is my understanding, Behringer have confirmed on social media that the 'c...

Re: Can anyone identify this sound?
Could be a 303. Also a MC202 or a SH101 or really a lot of different things. MS404? Bass Station? I agree for the most part. Several of the examples though have a pretty narrow band. So I had assumed bandpass filter. However, I guess a low pass filter, then set through a high pass ala Juno, or some...

Re: Can anyone identify this sound?
Actually, the second video is the one I skipped, and it's the one that COULD be a 303. (though not necessarily) The 303, (and now a few other synths/sequencers these days) have a time based glide rather than rate based. That's how that rubbery slide is done. The Korg SQ-1 can do it for example...

Re: Can anyone identify this sound?
To me, the most tracks are way to far away from what i consider to be a Roland TB 303. The Filter Vibe is not "right". In the first 2 Tracks, there is heavily a Flanger effect poured over the sound. The filter band is quite narrow (BandPass) in the first track, so not a typical 12/18dB Low Pass. In...

Re: Polyend Tracker
To be fair, you're actually talking about the internet and humans period here. Not just Elektronauts, not just here, not just Slutz0rz, etc. That's people. Nintendo/Sega. AMD/Intel. Nvidia/AMD. PC/Mac. Elekton/Other Brand. I totally agree! Absurd brand loyalty is everywhere. But we are in a music g...

Re: Behringer 2600
In order to hear a tangible difference in sound, given the same circuits, nearly ALL of the components would need to be swapped out for something extreme. I don't think this is true. Change a few capacitors and the sound of a filter can change in a way that is easily audible. Not saying Behringer h...

Re: Polyend Tracker
Indeed. It's been my experience on the the Elektronauts forums that they don't react well to objective opinions that don't fall in line with their brand loyalty. I'm not just talking about Polyend or Tracker. It's pretty common nowadays to see gear rushed to market full of bugs and unimplemented fe...

Re: Polyend Tracker
I definitely prefer non-beta firmware in hardware that costs ~$500+. There's nothing less vibey than filing a bug report in the middle of a session. I think it's great they're making strides and issuing frequent updates, but I'll wait for the pioneers to get the arrows for this piece if I dive in a...

Re: Polyend Tracker
Thanks to everyone chiming in with real-world details here. As someone who has been eyeing the Tracker (but isn't quite ready to dive in until some of these issues are dealt with), it's extremely valuable. Agreed! The difference between this thread and, say, Elektronauts' Tracker thread is pretty s...

"With that said, if I had a 'christmas tree' B2600 version on order, I'd immediately cancel it and get one of the gray or blue ones. They do sound *much* better in the vid and posted audio." How exactly would you know that one sounded better than the other? Wouldn't they have to be side by side wit...
