Re: Behringer 2600

I think this thing is just perfect for a Blue Meanie paint-job. At this price, I wouldn't feel too bad about doing it either. Then again, with all the different colors of TD-3 and RD-6, maybe they'll just make some anyway.

Re: [AVAILABLE] stroh optogate lpg pcb, panel, kit frac

On the cap questions, I use 22uF X7R TDK 2.5mm lead spacing MLCC caps almost exclusively. Of course electrolytic will work too, and you can get audio grade there.

Sorry I haven’t been around much to help with questions. In the middle of a big move. I plan to be around more in the next couple of months. @Soup thanks for helping out! Also you can put out anything you like based on my schematics. Most should be posted freely in the DIY forum, and a few in the ol...

Re: "Best" Banana Color Scheme for New Format?

I'm with those of the floating boats. I always prefer the icy blue-white-grey theme, but then you don't have as much freedom to assign more colors to variations in function. I usually do audio/AC on one, control/DC on another, then logic/unipolar pulses on the last.

The Grid. A digital frontier. I tried to picture clusters of information as they moved through the computer. What did they look like? Ships? motorcycles? Were the circuits like freeways? I kept dreaming of a world I thought I'd never see. And then, one day... ...I got in. very nice, isn't that Neur...

Very nice! Moving right now, but hope to start playing with these soon.

Neil, you need to get a 200 MegaPures Pure-O-Scope as soon as possible. It's an essential piece of test equipment.

Re: LinnDrum LM-2 clone in progress

Well,well,..that's is cool,...but its the LM-1 you should have chosen. An LM-1 clone you will be able to exploit it to the max and sell much easier (also to collectors!) VS the 'less desirable' LM-2. I know someone working on an LM-1 semi-clone actually. (exact clone the way the sounds are generate...

Just had to put this here: The Grid. A digital frontier. I tried to picture clusters of information as they moved through the computer. What did they look like? Ships? motorcycles? Were the circuits like freeways? I kept dreaming of a world I thought I'd never see. And then, one day... ...I got in. ;)

Re: What does "snappy" Really. Mean?

@SkyWriter But the down side of all that 'narrowing the field' is you may be missing important parts of what makes the thing you're istening too fit the term "snappy" Fine as a first pass, but shouldn't IMO be seen as conclusive overall. For example, you mentioned the use of a digital oscillator so...

I haven’t followed this whole thread, just caught it while I’m out on the deck with a whiskey and cigar :hihi: There are nuances to each of these. Everyone knows the ADSR, so I’m just going to mention some things about AD vs AR. The AD recognizes a trigger. It could be a gate, but it will treat it l...

MOTM format panels will mount with zero issues on standard 19" style rack-rails. Then just get some socket-cap hex bolts, and everything looks great!

Re: Designers: For VCO frequency why aren’t trim pots used for course tune and big knobs for fine tune?

A bit of a thread de-rail, but does 'phase ' on the malekko panel mean 'pulse width'? It's a phase shift, but kind of works like PWM. If I'm not mistaken Grant used a circuit similar to the Hutchins/Ludwig saw animator circuit. I think this is also what's in the FM Aid, but can't be 100% certain. I...

Re: Designers: For VCO frequency why aren’t trim pots used for course tune and big knobs for fine tune?

I prefer large knobs for fine tuning as well. If space is at a premium then I’ll use the same size for both. I personally have never run into torque related wear and tear issues, but depending on how the user interacts with them I could see it perhaps. I’m pretty gentle with my equipment though. 594...
