Re: What new booty did you buy?

no, with synths. here on the pic it's driven with MC-707 and goes back to it for further processing. i love how it works with basses, but it also turned to work very well with bell-like sounds. Cool - thanks for that... It sounds really interesting... I've owned it. It's a great pedal. I flipped it...

A graphic t-shirt is never considered well dressed and a wardrobe comprised of them if you’re over twenty something is just sad.

Re: Is this pro or anti Korg Jupitor 106?

Thing is, whatever it is, I’ve seen it done before only much much better The blame lands squarely on their shoulders though, not art schools. You don’t get much more art school than Brian Eno after all, and he’s a highly vocal advocate of synthesis Don’t hate on them, save that for the real villains...

Re: Dave Smith hint of a new synth coming up in August

In the video he describes it as a "thank you", as in a thank you for his birthday wishes. Maybe just an off the cuff remark or did he mean to imply it was more personal? Personal between him and Sequential Circuits, Sequential and DSI fans. What would be the biggest wish of such fans? Does he mean s...

Re: Dave Smith hint of a new synth coming up in August

I'd love to know (not to make fun of them or anything but just for fun) how many units they move of these DSI synths. I was researching P6 and OB6 sales. P6 serial numbers are at about 7,500 and OB6 serial numbers are at about 5,000. Of course this assumes serial numbers are, ahem, 'sequential' :hi...

Re: Rich, expansive sounding synth

I know you tried the OB, but I find the Prophet 6 to have an incredible lush sound. I use one a lot and am always entrances but it’s pure tone. Well I've just sat at my OB6 for half an hour tweaking and it sounds every bit as lush as the Juno 6 above it and it's doing some thunderous, rumbling bass...

Re: One big purchase: Sequential or Deckard's?

Disclosure: OB6 owner, no personal experience of other synths mentioned. I think the OB6 is an odd one in that it's acquisition is largely driven by the question "well do you want that Oberheim sound or not?" Because you won't get it from anything else if you do. A professional synthesist friend tou...
