Re:
Do burst generators have any musical applications or do they all just spit out irregular garbage? Here I am replying to a 3 year old thread .... No - most will "burst" with timing from an external clock. So combined with a clock divider - you can do some really cool stuff - trigger a burst of five ...

Re: Digital modular synth in a box?
The Arturia Origin would have been a great option if they had stuck with it, fixed bugs/reliability problems, and continued to update it ...

Re: Digital modular synth in a box?
There was a synth introduced a couple of years ago. that was basically a computer that had a hardware interface that emulated a semi-modular. You're speaking of the Mungo State Zero, yes? https://www.synthtopia.com/content/2010/01/21/the-mungo-state-zero-polyphonic-modular-digital-synthesizer/ http...

Re: Missing two issues
It looks like I have .gif scans of: Volume 2, Number 5 - March, 1978 Volume 3, Number 2 - summer 1979 Happy to send these to whomever if they're needed to complete an archive. I actually think I have the entire archive of all of them somewhere on a disc, but it's not popped up yet. If I find it, I'l...

To put the question of cyndustries.com to rest - as her former web developer, I have stayed in touch with her, so I know the entire situation here. The domain name expired, and before Cynthia realized it, another party purchased it and the oddity that's there now appeared. Cynthia has no connection ...

Trying to find more like "Le Voyage"
Wife is on a choreographic kick - and is looking for more stuff like Christophe Filippi's "Le Voyage". I simply do not have time to compose anything for her myself at the moment. Suggestions as to other specific artists/pieces we might try that's similar? [video]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqGJnc...

Not that I'm a huge fan or anything, but hopefully Guitar Center doesn't go the way of Mars Music. I get SOOO pissed just thinking about that one ... My son saved for over a year to purchase (somewhere other than Mars) a very nice guitar amp for himself. He paid around $2,500 for that thing (Mesa Bo...

MemoryMoog Purchased new. Owned it for approximately 30 months. It spent approximately 24 of those months in the shop, and another 3 waiting on me to take it to the shop. Every time I got it back from the shop I'd be like, OK, THIS time it's good and won't let me down ... and I'd get to an important...

Re: Cyndustries still active?
Has anyone had any contact with Cynthia Webster recently? Thighp. I'm not sure what's going on either, but I do maintenance on her site when requested [which seriously needs a redesign if it's going to stick around], so I may have an extra point or two of contact with her. Let me see if I can get a...

Give a listen to what Kristian Westergaard is doing with his Easel.
He's using a reverb, plus a looper, and the results are very very nice

I especially like what he built up here:

Does anybody know of a decent, but not overly expensive, box that features HDMI conversion to RCA VA, but also has a thru for the HDMI signal? Re: Waldorf Blofeld similarity to XTK? Q?
I posted the below in the Blofeld Facebook group, but might be worth it here too.... Read somewhere that the main processing chips in the Blofeld have basically reached EOL (end of life), and once current supplies run out, they're gone. I think the article was referring to the Freescale MC9S12UF32 m...

How about something like an Emu Morpheus or Ultra Proteus pared with a decent knobby controller? The Z-Plane filters in that thing can do some very interesting stuff. Here's a custom sound demo.
