251e pulses are inconsistent. 281e and 250e pulses work great when patched straight to the 292e.Mannstrane wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 6:30 pmJust got a 251e. I have A Pulse out going to ping a 292e but the 292e is sounding like the pulse is not consistent even though I have it set to trans.

Re: Entering notes into 250e from 218e?
The 250e external CV inputs allow you to use external voltages for the stage CV values. When a 250e stage is active, it tracks the external CV. The "fix" button on the 250e tells the stage to hold its last voltage instead of following the input. This amounts to a track and hold, and you get sixteen ...

Re: Buchla 281e input select not working for certain presets
Just a couple of points of clarification: My suspicion is that the preset manager occasionally fills with corrupted data when the 200e is switched off, so I always go to an empty preset (number 1 in my case) when I switch it off. Each module stores all of its presets locally, and store only happens ...

Re: Re:
Having recently acquired a Studio H CSR, I wonder if you would be willing to share the process you use to scale oscillators with it? I feel like it should be intuitive but I'm not sure I've quite figured it out. Dedicate CSR outputs to specific oscillators and always patch it that way. Dedicate spe...

Re: Buchla love/hate
I guess I spend large proportions of time wrestling with trying to make the thing sound less like a synth and more like a spaceflute without necessarily quite having the functionality to dial in exactly as I'd like. The closest I have come to what I think you are describing is by feeding the 261e a...

Re: 291e Flaws?
Hi I have done a ton of feedback percussion stuff using the 291e. I route all three channels into themselves and monitor the ALL output. This gives you three percussion voices. I use the AMP level inputs to control the volume of each, and the freq inputs to control the bands. It is absolutely a must...

Re: 292e sound leaks when gate is fully close
Just noticed how much my 292e modules are leaking How much of the above relates to original Buchla vs 3rd party? Hi Michael, if you suspect a grounding problem, move your 292e to your powered boat and see if the problem goes away. If it does, then you have insufficient ground in your remote boat.

Re: Don Buchla Keyboard Magazine Interview
This quote grabbed me more than any other. I think a modular architecture defies (at least resists) this conception of legitimacy. It's my thought that an instrument, to be a legitimate instrument, has to be identifiable and replicable, in order to be composed for and to have a repertoire develop.

I also looked at that patch and reconsidered the 261e FM input. Here is a track I made from that time. The flute sound is the effect of external FM on the 261e. Full patch description included.

Re: 251e sample and hold issue
Surprising as it may seem, my 281e’s pulse outputs have no trouble triggering my 251e and it doesn’t freak out. I don’t know if this has to do with manufacture date. Both of my 281e’s were manufactured after 2015. I heard something about early 281e’s outputting higher voltages than more recent mode...

1. How to I change the internal bussing? Mine doesn’t have an sw switch that can be switched to “A” or “B”. There are two switches, so a total of four positions are possible: on/on, on/off, off/on, and off/off. These allow you to select one the four buses. You can press and hold the remote button t...

I have orderd a Silabs and will try to get a firmware reload done. Hope it works. Is it sure, that I don’t need a special cable or adapter to connect the sislab to the 261e? Re: 200e power supply - nailing it down
My question is: +15 and -15 are the "official" power rails for 200e modules. But is the +12 supply available also? I'd like to use the +12 to run tube heaters, since it appears to be fed directly from the AC power brick. Then -15v would be fine for the negative supply. Also, can anyone give an idea...
