Ah, you mentioned this was coming! Didn’t realize it was so quick!
It has actually been done for a month or two - I just wanted to complete the new website before putting it out + the general time chaos the last months.

Multiplier - polarizing VCA

aka 4-quadrant multiplier or "ring-modulator"

Just added to the new site: https://www.bugbrand.co.uk/product/multiplier/

I had a bit of a hard time simply describing it!
When you use two modulation inputs along with the offset control you can do a lot at audio or sub-audio rates.

Re: Best DIY Compressor modules?

Any ideas where I could get THAT4301? Already took a look at Thonk, Musikding, Banzai etc. they all report it out-of-stock. I could swear I saw THAT4301 not so long ago in stock even on Mouser or Farnell... I really don't get it why THAT discontinued it without any direct replacement, at least as S...

You might well find things more easily if not referring to them incorrectly as 1/8" ;)
Though I know it is a commonly used error..

Thanks all!

Let me know if there is anything extra you think would be helpful.
We did set up a blog but I turned it off for now.. Feel out of practice with such things (and videos & recordings etc etc!)

Re: New Website (finally!) LIVE

Yes, a balancing act of how much I could realistically port across - but info should still be present via Archive.org as mentioned on the new website's Archive page

New Website (finally!) LIVE

https://www.bugbrand.co.uk/

Happy to receive feedback / comments / error spotting! Certainly I need to do a few more little tweaks here & there.
Basically no stock availability direct for now - need to get back up with Reds stocks & Blues remain Order Only.

Is it working for you?!

Re: God dam’it ....another addiction.

I built one of the MP573 preamps & then a pair of Tape Sims - though really have not been playing at all in the studio so have done very little real testing. If i get overly tempted I'd probably get a 2nd of the preamps and add the complimentary EQ - but not sure I can really justify such things! I ...

Re: Help with Aux eq and compression

OK, that's quite a selection..
Yeah, I'd suggest trying the groups for EQ/Comps for various reasons (again you could return via channels - nice thing having 32 channels!)
Of course, you CAN use comps on aux sends - find your own route! But, yeah, tend to think of them more for effect sends.

Re: Help with Aux eq and compression

I always prefer to use channels as aux returns! Much more routing & eq flexibility + possibility for feedback chains! Does the Soundcraft have any busses/groups? Personally tend to use that approach for eq or compressors in general rather than aux sends - well, or channel inserts but I rarely do tha...

Re: 1st guitar and a newbie signal flow question

You could look into something like the Strymon Iridium - amp modeller pedal, line out so you'd not need the DI.
Been good for my simplistic needs!

Re: Best PCB fabs for Front Panels? Rectangular cutouts? holes larger than 6mm?

I still use/recommend PCB Cart for front panels (based mainly on tending not to make loads of scratches/blemishes - or at least remaking a bad batch) They can do larger holes no prob. I've rarely done rectangular cutouts but can remember one project - pretty sure I just had an extra outline layer in...

Re: Equalizers Rack/Pedal/Whatever

I just wish I could figure a simple ganged-stereo approach (without complex pots etc) - having two for stereo does work but it feels a little wrong to me.
But, yeah, a useful mono building block for sure!

Re: Equalizers Rack/Pedal/Whatever

Ooh, this is really appealing to me. Shelving eq factors into my actual music work (mixing and engineering) on the daily, and given that this is BugBrand I know it will almost certainly be inspiring, euphoric, and unique. And the aesthetic is looking seriously strong these days (but of course, it a...

Book suggestions?

Hi, A few months ago I got a letter from someone serving time here in the UK - he's super interested in music & production (techno especially) and wrote to me after seeing my effects boxes in magazines. Really humbling & heartfelt! He's asking if I have any suggestions on books about production/effe...

Re: DRM1X&DRM2

Thing with processing modules is that the DRM1/2 main outs are 1/4" - there's less scope for modular audio processing on them.
So I'd focus on modulation or clocking sources.

Re: DRM1X&DRM2

Curious to hear what others think...
Can't remember for sure but might simply have a blank in the studio setup (haven't been playing at all..)
Dual Divide might be useful.
