Re: The modules you have in double, triple, quadruple ...

My comparatively recent modular journey has been more disjointed than most (I go back a long way with non-modular synths) and without my previous studio space, these days everything 'studio' is limited and makeshift as I concentrate more on DIY projects in my relatively small living space. Hope to r...

Re: Perhaps I need to take a break

Just come upon this thread. I've come across some great sounding large refrigeration units in certain supermarkets, especially when they're not apparently working optimally... some wonderfully engaging, often fearsome, rackets to behold! Sometimes I wonder if it looks like I'm loitering unnaturally ...

Re: Arturia Minibrute 2! / [EDIT - and now 2S!]

I got a MB2 Keyboard the other day for like $245 on Guitar Center (listed incorrectly) and I have to say....as a former of a Matrixbrute... the MB2 just sounds better. I don't know exactly what it is. I think the sound has more clarity/edge to it. It's also a lot bigger than I expected. I ordered a...

Re: Greatest electronic song ever.

Why are almost all of the entries from before 1990? No Björk, BoC, Broadcast, James Blake, Kaytlin Aurelia Smith, LCD SS, Wu Tang, Thom Yorke, or...Miley Cyrus?! :miley: Always thought this BoC track had something for appeal beyond the hard core fans. Wish they'd done a bit more of this 'bold' stro...

Re: Greatest electronic song ever.

... "The Modern Dance" by Pere Ubu...Allen Ravenstine's EML squiggles & bleeps are revelatory! Best, John Those first two Pere Ubu albums were phenomenal. I reckon Ravenstine's keyboardless 'pure' synth work complements the other band instruments, in those instances, near perfectly. I remember Davi...

Re: Greatest electronic song ever.

Ha... so many of these I'd also nominate. This is really a bit of fun isn't it? If Autobahn by Kraftwerk could be considered a song, then for me, that would probably be it. Nice to see I Feel Love, Warm Leatherette and even Bernard Szajner's Welcome (To Death Row) mentioned. That largely modular sou...

Re: Lead forming

For years I was happy to just bend the leads by eye with reasonably neat results, but I've recently bought a widely available and cheap plastic 'preset' lead former and I use it all the time for increased neatness. I like the way this variant (usually in blue but also in red) has a selection of widt...

Re: Friendly Rant on Lack of Vertical Case Designs

Maybe not a prime consideration, but ensure the PSUs aren't overburdened and allow plenty of airflow ventilation through the enclosure since heat build up may be more pronounced in such a vertical stack.

Re: VCF for ambient / drone

Plenty of worthy suggestions here. I would lean towards a dual/stereo multimode or state variable filter of some description, to give a sense of space with generous independent CV control options for cutoff, resonance and mix thus affording lots of opportunities for relatively slow subtle tonal/harm...

Re: connect analogue systems RS-35 module to eurorack case?

Hmm. If I'm seeing things right it appears this particular RS-35 has been fitted with an adaptor to give the choice of using an Analogue Systems ribbon power connector or the standard Eurorack connector. So you could bypass that ribbon connector you have in the photo and just use a standard all fema...

Re: Analog Oscs with CV over Waveform Shape

The oft overlooked Analogue Systems Euro RS-95 and RS-95e analogue VCO can do this 'waveshaping' to its three standard waveforms. There's the usual PWM, but also an independent +/- 2 V range "CV IN SHAPE" for smoothly morphing the upward rising sawtooth/ramp through to a triangle (at 0 v) and on to ...

Thanks for that Dcramer . My tuning/led issues seem to have been mentioned a few times by o...

Doepfer A-110-4 QZVCO Substandard tracking and LED

Scanned many posts but haven't found anything definitive on this. Just bought a Doepfer A-110-4 QZVCO (blue SE version) from a seller who bought it new stating "Used a handful of times!" with an apparent reassurance, on my inquiry, that it was fine with no internal trimmer interference. However, jus...

Re: Best MS20 style filter for Eurorack?

One of the original clones in Euro is the Analogue Solutions SY02, which is a 1:1 clone from the manufacturers description at least. When placed up against a real vintage MS-20 and a later MS20m (with both filters) I could not hear the difference. Old module, but still a keeper for me. Yep, same he...

The ecstatic melodic tones of Tongebirge, seemingly unbidden, entered my mind just this afternoon... and now, in the presence of this news... I'm heartbroken.

Kraftwerk, in which his spirit lives on, has greatly enhanced this life and many others for sure. A fine 'living' legacy.
