I remember this thread. Update of my room posted on the first page. It's interesting how my outlook on having a studio has changed since then. I still write tracks on the laptop from time to time, but I have shifted most of my work back into the studio. Helps me focus and get shit done. https://www...

Re: Your sparse studio

Hey listentoaheartbeat. I'm currently tossing up whether to get 310s or 420s. What do you think? Hey! :) I think powerful full-range speakers like the 420s are fantastic. That being said, you need to set them up at a proper distance to get a homogeneous stereo image (check the docs) and have a very...

Re: Cwejman RES-4 individual outputs mod

My photos just showed the cable routing on the back of the module. To make it extra secure, I drilled holes in the back plane (second, blank PCB) and secured the wires using zip ties. Cannot find my photos any more, but the only one that really matters is in the first post, it shows the points in th...

Re: Newb looking for 'Patching for dummies' kind of thing

I think learning experiences are highly personal. I always relate my practice to the conceptual level, it’s how I structure and remember things. So reading and writing about what I do is key to my process. But I have met many people who work more intuitively and don’t really need a framework like th...

Learning Resources about Modular Patching Techniques

Hi everyone, What are your favorite, freely and legally available learning resources about modular patching techniques, video and text? Any modular format, also anything from basic to advanced patches. General synthesis information is also welcome, as long as it can be easily applied to modular. Not...

Re: CV Sequencer with envelope outputs?

Didn’t realize this thread took off! Thanks for all the suggestions. Not looking for a module though. Cirklon and Analog Four are a bit too involved for what I had in mind. I have considered to get a FH-2 and use my iPad and Roli Blocks, but again this would require to shuffle modules around, plus I...

I don't know of any device that would do this. I'm curious as to why you would want to buy a specialized device like this instead of just connecting your sequencer gate output to a regular EG?
Because there is no regular EG. :)

CV Sequencer with envelope outputs?

Hi everyone, I am looking for a CV sequencer that can send envelopes instead of gates. Sequence control over envelope parameters would be great. Preferably stand-alone and not a module, hence my post here. Any ideas?

Re: Serge Variable Q VCF - Eurorack

From the documentation: The 2180 is available in 3 different versions - A being the most selected (and most expensive) while C has slightly lower specifications, B being in between. Each version has far better audio quality than the VCAs in the original circuit, so any differences between A, B or C ...

Re: Spectrum Analyzer / Audio Analysis

The Flux Pure Analyzer is smooth and expressive. It also has some special functionality that sets it apart. The spectrum analyzer for example offers peak detection in a customizable frequency-band. It highlights the frequency with the loudest amplitude in the given band. I use this to detect the fun...

Re: How much iPad does one need?

A new iPad 10.2 is by far the best option for music apps on a budget. You won't save much buying used but miss out on performance and future-proofing. I am currently using an iPad 2 in the studio and it is super laggy even with sequencers and patch editors.

Finally got around to building mine. Thanks to kweiwen for this great project! If anyone wants the .fpd file for my panel design, hit me up. It mimics the R*S Haible panels.

Re: Distrokid experiences/alternatives?

We originally signed up with Distrokid to get on Spotify, however their submission rules were super restrictive in terms of how to set up and name releases. We would not have been able to use correct artist and release names (which include special capitalization), nor have our VA split singles displ...

Sounds like an 808 kick to me. There is definitely saturation, but not in the sense of just slamming the kick into whatever will clip and distort. This would produce much stronger first harmonics, especially in the range of the initial pitch decay where the kick has a lot of energy. Could be paralle...

Synth Repair other than X-Tended in Berlin?

Hi everyone,
any alternatives to X-Tended for synth repairs in Berlin? X-Tended are asking for 800€ to repair a voice board and the keybed of my friend's Juno-106, which seems excessive.
Cheers!
