They are (I think) German made. Some of them are even original designs!
Beautiful, simply beautiful.

can't people just enjoy nice things? talk less, make more sound, please... Forums are for talking - if you don't like talking you're in the wrong place. that's the wrong approach though. a discussion of this sort can't possibly be held on a music forum... just look at it: people are arguing over de...

I've bought, sold, built and traded close to 100 modules at this point. I miss the Rubicon and the Erbeverb. I will build a case of Intellijel modules and a case of Tom Erbe MakeNoise stuff someday.

Huh, I'm doing the exact opposite. I feel you, been using Logic since 2.6 and this kind of stuff befuddles me. I solved it by using Ableton for anything involving the modular/complex MIDI routing/Reaktor/Max and then using Logic for anything else(more traditional linear recording/editing). Bit of a kludge but it has worked for me so ...

$240 USD a yr and you have to be online every 7 days to authenticate or the instruments stop working. I paid about $240 USD for NI Komplete 8 like 5 years ago and every bit of it has worked without an internet connection or any additional money since then. That's Massive, FM8, Absynth, Kontakt, Batt...

I'm looking to get into instrument/efx design and building as well. I'm taking computer science/programing courses at a local uni and will focus my electives on embedded systems and C/C++. In my spare time I build synth/pedal DIY and read books and watch lectures to try to get a better understanding...

I've finished putting mine together and the pulse with PWM and sub oscillator is particularly cool. But I have some dead spots with pulse output at the beginning and end of the PW pot, i.e. no signal. Is that expected? Looking at http://www.birthofasynth.com/Thomas_Henry/Pages/VCO_Maximus-Detail.ht...

I have 1 factory assembled module that is not Doepfer. An Expert Sleepers ES-3. My first system was all sorts of manufacturers and I spent too much time trading things in and out of the case. My second system is 95% Doepfer and has been stable for a while. Doepfer helped kill my GAS. But, now I've g...

Looks like perhaps the BUM! has a capacitor on the input that is leaking back to the passive mult? But then why would the BD808 input fix it? The 808 trigger input is probably giving the trigger voltage a better path to ground (or perhaps is providing the only path to ground). If there is not a dir...

If you're using it tethered to a DAW I strongly suggest an Expert Sleepers ES3 or similar. The ES3 gives you 8 outs that are automatically scaled to modular level. I've used it to send all sorts of audio out of Ableton into my modular. I've used it to have Clouds on an auxiliary send. I've sent guit...

Modules without multiple functions are boring. You answered your own question. you need an amplifier to get the iphone audio up to modular level. With a stereo to dual mono cable the gain on the clouds should get you there. Otherwise there are a variety of small hp signal amps for this purpose. Like the Doepfer A-183-3 Or any VCA with a gain con...

Anyone know what the parts cost for miniO+C is ? I'd gladly buy these for around the $200 mark They would have to be produced pretty large scale to hit that mark. Right now it's ~$100 for parts, pcb and panel. It would take a skilled DIYer a minimum of 2 hours and more likely 3-4 to put it together...

I only have space for 6U and it's almost all Doepfer so it may actually be worth less than my '08 VW Golf, though at this point they're pretty close. I have a pedal steel guitar that's worth more than my car though.
