Re: Oooh, ahhh, that's how it always starts - Digital Modules in 5U
I have both in sound sources as well as timing/sequencer control modules. I still have a tendency to daydream about analog patch setups. For me the fun of deep-diving digital modules happens when I just play around with them. I rarely have a pre-planned project other than a general idea of how I wan...

Re: Modules that MULTIPLY clock signals.
The fastest "DIVIDER VALUE" is 1/96 note which is simply 24ppq and is a native dinsync pulse rate. I'm sorry but I don't really understand what that means... to my ear, it SPEEDS UP the incoming clock rate so to me that is multiplying the rate. Whether the function itself is DIVISION or not is sema...

Re: Modules that MULTIPLY clock signals.
What's great about the Moon MIDI to CLOCK module is that not only does it output the MIDI clock but it has a separate output variant which divides AND multiplies. It even has RESET outputs. Apart from the fact that most modular users don't even bother with MIDI, I think this module can also be over...

Re: Spare modules laying around
Hello. My name is Dave and I'm a spare module addict. I have a shelf in the DIY bench/guest bedroom filled with about 50 "spare's" and two other full 22 space cabs filled with MU and MOTM. The spare modules are bagged in Crown Royal Black bags that I've collected for years. Shamefully I have more ba...

Re: Stuffing the Dotcom 163 EuroRack Adapter?
I really like the Metropolis and use it for complex stuff but I was more interested in the original Roland 100M 182 which the Metropolis was inspired by. It (Metropolis) is very deep in the menu diving aspects and is one if those modules you keep the manual within reach. Behringer has a cheapo clone...

Re: Stuffing the Dotcom 163 EuroRack Adapter?
That Ensemble Oscillator is quite the module. If I had to choose (I won't though. I have a separate Euro setup and like it that way), I'd wedge in one of those C4RBN filters from WMDevices. Can't find anything close in 5U or Frac or Buchla or....

Re: Post pics of your 5U format setup!
Greetings fellow travelers. I'm fairly new to the modular game. This is Wilson. Wilson is just a baby right now. I'm hoping he'll get to grow a little larger in the future. Wilson has been my companion to fight loneliness and boredom on this desert island we call the Covid Shutdown. I've been tryin...

Re: STG Time Modules
I modified my Time Buffer to have a pair of jacks for dinsync "clock and reset" as well as a toggle switch to pause the in-coming clock. It's a great way to stop everything when recording with a DAW which is sending the clock. Otherwise stopping the DAW clock also stops recording which truncates any...

That's a good start... or ending.

Seriously, that's more room behind than what I have in front of my setup. I'd hate to show you the cluster-f behind my cabs.

Man... I gotta get one of those Thundrums. I used Pollard Syndrums and a pair of Synare's in the 80's. I've always patched up my own synth drum sounds since then but the economy of design there is pretty tempting. I also hear you about the studio time. I have the studio in what used to be the dining...

Re: How did you feel when you first started with modular?
At the time..(late 1970's) I had to build a PAIA modular due to a small income and living in an equally small town, but I also was as interested in the rudimentary control computer it came with as with the various modules. I had an Arp Axxe and a home made drum/noise synth so I was already familiar ...

Re: SSL - New 1530 Tube VCA (CGS)
I wouldn't mind that you post some of your example patch audio. :-) Your wish is my command. The last few videos I've done have incorporated the S1530 but this one is probably the most carefully "tuned" to my liking (so far). It is very apparent to me the difference in the way it takes a simple sin...

USPS inundated...waiting...sigh You will not be disappointed... if that helps in any way. It can add smooth body to an otherwise sterile waveform like standing with your back to a campfire on a cold night. I do notice a fast envelope to the CV input does introduce some low frequency thumping. I hav...

Re: Modules that MULTIPLY clock signals.
There is a great multiplier in Euro from 4MS called the Quad Clock Distributor, and it's the only one I've ever used which is pretty dependable as a multiplier. The reason most clock modules are dividers is that in a multiplier circuit you have to interpolate the incoming clock and adjust a digital ...
