Re: Filter Recommendations

Yeah something Serge like the aforementioned VCFQ. The Res EQ (i have a 10hp version) could be an interesting module to complement your other filters, with some feedback to play with. Wait... there’s a 10hp version of the ResEQ??? It this one: https://www.modulargrid.net/e/other-unknown-reseq woah ...

Re: Schippmann to end Eurorack production

For once can with this brand, can we get a comprehensive video? He's proved himself in the aural stakes- I'd buy blind but these aren't audio tool and I cannot see the possibilities atm, I just dont quite get what they do and reading others interpretations isn't helping me either.

Re: Cables! Noob question

I refuse to buy any cable's that cost $8 a piece. Sooner or later I am just going to buy a shitload of those nice metal connectors and a bunch of, I dunno 26 awg copper wire, which is what they all say they are using, and the go to town and make em, even if they are all the same color. Though of co...

Re: Cables! Noob question

I remember the days when people used to just recommend counting up the jacks on the modules and dividing by 2 - which works for newer users quite well - as you get more and more modules - it's likely you'll need fewer cables per jack as you will be less likely to use all modules at once If you are ...

Re: Cables! Noob question

In terms of length, the .ost efficient system I came up with depends on how many cases do you have? If just the one, then the longest should span corner to corner without being physically stressed, then another batch about half that length. If you have more than a case, again, first length should b...

Re: Cables! Noob question

Forgot to add FOMU also do a right angled plug option; good for those modules with a lot of patch points that you actually use but tradtional plugs would inhibit wiggle room. Though using them on things like Vincursal VCA (a super dense module) finding space for all the plugs with right angles can b...

Re: Cables! Noob question

Dunno where you're based but I enjoy Fomu cables. They're pretty slim bodied so do not take up excess space, they have the best colour range esp now with the braided options. You'll get better prices on their website than you will on Ebay. In terms of length, the most efficient system I came up with...

Schippmann has a similar reassuring resistance to Joranalogue. Ditto Analogue Systems. I'd say Waldorf's futuristic beautifully brushed aluminium knobs are fantastic- especially when you consider the spaciousness and aesthetics of their modules. The rotaries of the Frap CGM feel good but my favourit...

I built this primarily out of nostalgia for the wall of Moog that I would read about in Keyboard magazine, back in the day! Way out of reach for mere mortals back then, so I always had some gear lust for it. So it's more of a childhood dream come true. https://millionmachinemarch.com/wp-content/upl...

Re: Cwejman owners, current or past

I almost feel a little bad for the manufacturer in this case because a lot of people (myself absolutely) have totally sworn off any interest in his offerings due to the second hand price gouging. Yeah, that is how I feel a lot of the time. There's something about some of the users that comes across...

It's come up in this thread before, but it was the key for me to enjoying bitbox so I thought it was worth repeating: Use 48 kHz samples!!! Apparently using 44.1 kHz puts more strain on Bitbox, but it also seems to introduce ringing artifacts even at base pitch. I have also found that if I get a lo...
