Re: Korg ARP 2600 availability

If anyone is having trouble triggering the EG's with gear that only sends out a 5V Gate... Just put it through the Pre-Amp and raise the gain until the EG's fire. Simple and effective.

Re: Roland Jupiter X

I've recently bought the Jupiter X, and to be honest I'm reselling ASAP - It's a PITA to program new Tones from scratch. Roland obviously though the new all-in-one "Scene" format would be great for performers, but when programming you have to remember what mode you're in - changing a parameter direc...

As I'm locked in for the next month or so...

Took a chunk out of my pension and bought the Fantom.

Ooooh... LM301's - I'm so glad Korg didn't cop out and use "better" op-amps. Even though it's all SMD, you can follow the circuit quite easily.

Re: Korg arp 2600 mini?

I think the render is genuine, as It came out around the same time Korg showed us the FS 2600... The Keyboard panel on the mini has the ARP/Sequencer switch, and I don't think anyone had the time to fake this before GC "accidentally" put it out. It also looks like the 3 octave keyboard maybe full si...

Re: Behringer 2600

I built a full size 2600 clone and 3620 keyboard a few years back with 3 FULL VCOs and Sync on 1 & 2, with deliciously noisy LM301's throuout (none of that clean audio path for me). Sadly, unlike AMS, Behringer never got back to me when I applied to help out with future projects. But hey ho... at le...

Think you've got enough Strats there? Looks like a good start. :bananaguitar: :hihi: True, I don't need all of them. I'm keeping the self-build and the Fender Plus Top... the two Squiers on the right are being replaced with a Player Jazzmaster. And then I promise never, ever to buy another guitar :...

I suspect the "fiesta" reference is associated with the fiesta ware style of glazed dinnerware from the mid 20th century, which at that time included oxidized uranium in the paint composition. Yup, same colour as these Fiesta Ware jugs... or Heinz Tomato Soup :hihi: https://live.staticflickr.com/65...

Fiesta Red... or is it just Orange?

I'm just finishing off a new build... I bought the strat body as "Fiesta Red", but now I'm not so sure that it is. To my eyes in normal daylight, it's distinctly orange, but when photographed the colour turns much redder and becomes the "Fiesta Red" I thought I was buying. Has anybody else had this ...

Oh, oh... I'm having a bit of a problem with external CV control of the Neutron's VCOs. If I use the Neutron via MIDI (Roland System 8/Kronos) everything sounds fine with both VCOs scaling correctly, but if I use either the Arturia Keystep/System 8 or ARP 2600 Keyboard CV output (BTW, all 3 are cali...

Although it's not exactly a "B" movie, David Hentschel's synth work on Operation Daybreak is pretty good. Mostly made with an ARP 2500 and an unidentified string synth (It maybe a Roland VP330, which he used on Educating Rita) Strange choice of soundtrack for a war film though. Shame it was never re...

This is the panel from my last build... I think the print looks ok-ish from a distance, but get up close and it's a bit rough. I'll stick with screen printing in future. It may be more expensive, but looks far more professional. https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5543/30335569834_1ef7457b82_b.jpg https:...

Nothing to worry about... It's the same paint effect as the original 1978 MKIII Oddy.

It just proves how much attention Korg are taking to get it right.

I'm glad to see that a full size project is on the cards. I built my own a few years back and it was a huge undertaking, but I never got round to developing a kit version. The 4027 schematic is the 3rd revision of the 2600's VCO module - the previous two were the 4011 & 4017. I would love to see schematics for the 4011 and 4017. Do you have them by any chance? In all my years of repairing ARP synths, I've never seen the schematics for either the 4011 or 4017 :despair:

Each parallel modulator controlled by LFOs all putting out the same modulation waveform, but in different phase from each other. Then mix the three out of phase modulated sig...

@ Broadwave, When I was refering to the front panel not being the same I thought there were two black switches on the bottom left but I guess I am mistaken. What functions do those extra pcbs you have in the shot of the base of your synth. So you made that aluminium box by bending it with a workmat...
