Re: Post pics of your Wiard!

Darwin & Grant can explain the filter better than I ever could - here's the manual.

Re: Post pics of your Wiard!

That red Wiard is fine! What's the story on it? I bought it from Grant back in maybe 1999 - I don't recall exactly. At the time he was doing custom colors and other customizations, so when he asked I took the opportunity to get something a little off the beaten path. So I asked for red - I think I ...

Re: Post pics of your Wiard!

One-of-a-kind (so far as I know) red model with blue Sequantizer and gate LEDs.

I bought mine for $400, then sold it for $4,000 around 2008, which I thought was a bit crazy.

It's a neat synth, just not -that- neat.

Nice. I have the same configuration (2x o_C, 1 OG and 1 Hemisphere). I've just barely begun to scratch the surface of what they can do.

Chiming in on the Radio Music/PSU3 issue. I've just discovered that Radio Music won't power up at all in a PSU3-powered old Doepfer chassis I've got (upgraded from PSU1 to PSU3, original buss board). But the same module works just fine in my TipTop Mantis. I don't have the 5v bus connected in the Do...

Thanks for the suggestions - I replaced the old PSU1 with a brand spanking new PSU3 just now, and everything seems to be working fine. I realized after the installation that the reason the PSU1 had "died" was that I actually blew the tiny mains fuse. Thought I'd checked that but apparently not. So I...

Suggestions for drop-in power supply and buss replacement?

Apologies in advance if I put this in the wrong part of the forum. I have an old Doepfer rack chassis - probably early 90s whose power supply recently gave up the ghost. It's a single row so it doesn't need a massive power supply. I'd prefer to keep the whole row free if possible, meaning avoiding s...

Anyone put their Mantis on a stand? I'm looking for the most ergonomic way to integrate it on my 'working space'. Not too far from axis speakers. I'm thinking put it next to me, like mastering rack, on the left and right (I have both mantis). Not a stand, but I made a shelf for it with walnut 'fenc...

That's also very helpful - thanks for sharing.

Too bad Grayscale is out of stock on the panels, but hopefully they'll make more or someone else will create a similar design.

Is there some way to just skip to that last step?

Thanks for all the responses - there's some very helpful info. To answer some of the Qs: - I actually do have the MOTM 940 patch panel but it's 2U and I need to get something in 1U of space since that's all I have left in my downsized 5U setup. - Special cables would certainly work but since I've mo...

1U 1/4"-mini patch panel for MOTM?

Hi all, Does anyone know if there's such thing as a MOTM-format 1U patch panel for swapping 1/4" and 1/8" (aka 3.5mm or mini) plugs? Synthesizers.com has their Q122 panel, which is the right idea. But unless I'm mistaken I can't mount that to a MOTM rack rail due to the hole placement. At least not ...

Back when I had a Wogglebug as part of my 300 system, I most often used it in very small amounts on an oscillator's frequency control. This gave the oscillator a slightly 'unstable' sound to it, an effect I'm fond of. Some parts of a system should be predictable. The Wogglebug is for the parts that ...
