Re: Dave Smith & Tom Oberheim OB-6

I didn't know the spring reverb whack was still a 'hidden' feature - it was featured like 5 years ago when the prophet 6 came out. Kind of cool I guess but personally I don't like hitting the side of my OB-6 since it wasn't cheap lol. I can't imagine they put an accelerometer in it just for a goofy...

Re: kemper profiler vs the world

You will find that there are people who really like the Axe-FX and other people who swear by the Kemper. I’ve had both and I felt The Kemper was both easier to use and sounded more “real” - the Axe is very tweaky though, so if you’d like to deep dive into your sound, you might find it more to your ...

Re: kemper profiler vs the world

The new Neural DSP Quad Cortex does amp modeling and profiling. If you're not going to do any profiling, how about the Axe FX 3? Huge community and tons of good first and third party presets (effects can be disabled): A bunch of big-name artists use it exclusively on the road: https://www.fractalau...

kemper profiler vs the world

As a producer for other artists I record a lot of guitars in studios and over the years it becoming more and more complicated to get the right sound for different reasons. Some people don´t know what they want until they listen to what they recorded in the context of a mix, so I was thinking about g...

Re: Behringer Mono/Poly!

It does look and sound beautiful, but i don't really get the appeal of 4 osc into a single filter and VCA? Then again i never played the original. The Moog Matriarch does the same thing. At the risk of precipitating a snowstorm of semantic debate, I would say this is 'paraphony'...😬 paraphony is gr...

terrible name and logo...and I don´t dig the marshall-esque look... but for $99 I´m in...good feature set, and honestly, I tried theremins in the past and I sucks at playing it properly, so I can´t justify more than this money to get one...the extra sound controls, delay, MIDI, USB, CV out and quant...

for the price of the erica drum sequencer you can get this one and add a lot of stuff that covers all this functions (and more) the accent/triggers isn´t there? Re: Behringer Rhythm Sequencer

When I saw the prototype image this morning, my first reaction was "Holy cow, Behringer now shamelessly starts copying Erica Synth eurorack module design". Copying a 303 is one thing, but this is next level, or am I wrong? both modules have a very similar layout and both are based on a 909-clone´s ...

Re: KARP 2600 vs. TTSH, redux

If you've managed to snag ( finally ! ) a KARP 2600 FS then quit worrying, basically. I got mine back in June. It's wonderful - easily the best synth I've ever owned. Beautiful & new & shiny but just oozing with that vintage mojo sonically. The 3620 keyboard is also fantastic. As a complete system ...

it would appear that the Antonus version is tweaked to be more "correct." I can confirm this ... in a blind test, the Antonus is indistinguishable from the original. I talked with Toni Gutierrez and other technicians and musicians that have both the Antonus and the OG, and we all think the same. It...

It's designed for eurorack because it can be powered by eurorack and it's 3U? I don't get the appeal of this. Looks like you'd want, at minimum, reset, CV of play/pause/stop/record/pattern, flam, repeat, filter, and random... I mean, the obvious competitor (the Erica Drum Sequencer) isn't much bett...

Behringer Rhythm Sequencer

from Behringer: This is a design draft of a cool drum sequencer based on our upcoming RD-9. It’s designed for Eurorack and comes with 11 trigger outputs. We believe we could offer it for US$ 149. Would you be interested in such a drum sequencer? Disclaimer. We haven’t decided yet if we will build it...

Re: Modor DR-2 digital drum machine...

nice but ... too big for a just 6-drum instrument ... being this size and digital I would have expected 10 at least

also, it sounds quite plastic-ish in Kink´s demos...the snare and claps are too flat for my taste...100% subjective anyway, other will love this

edit: 1750€ !?!?!? really?

I believe the K2600 Mini is designed for 19” rack compatibility. if not it's awfully close, going by eyeballing with the "Volca unit" measurement. perhaps they wanted to do similar to Beh's rack-able offering, but give you the option of having it in the Tolex case as well. looking at my 2600 with a...

Curious, do persons who use this into an interface place their monitors on the mixer itself and feed the interface back to the mixer, or just keep the monitors on their interface? It’d be nice to keep some of it live, but it seems like monitors on the interface are probably the better option. I´m c...

Re: Dave Smith hints at Sequential Prophet 5 Rev4/Prophet 10

is this high frequencies lost such noticeable? or it could pass as just a "warmer" sound than, say, the P6? There are lots of before and after demos now so you can judge for yourself. Arguably it is “warmer” than the P-6 before you remove caps, but since it’s just an extra filter I don’t know that ...
