Re: Something New from Doc Sketchy

Hey Team, I'm thinking about a modification to the Frequency Shifter module. This new one would not have an onboard oscillator on it, but would instead be driven from an external VCO. This would lower the cost of the shifter significantly. Is there any interest in this new concept? I'll try to thro...

I have sent you a mesage with both files. The processor type is DSPIC30F3014.

Updating my my DA was really worth it for me.

Re: double andore

I got two hex files from Scott for two different PCB versions and my DA (PCBv1) is a lot more stable now. I can't upload them here without getting an error message but would forward them via email. The process was a bit cumbersome though and I barely remember how I got the update to work in the end.

Re: Kermit mk III - coming soon

Mind that while in Editing mode everything you change on the interface and internal settings is immediately saved to ther preset for that session. YOu will need to save all presets from the menue if you want them to stay like that when powering down or, on the other hand, your presets are save while...

Re: Kermit mk III - coming soon

I think it's like this: There are 8 slots to store presets in. They are only available in preset mode. Live mode (or no-mode?) does not store its settings and you cannot load a preset into live mode. It always starts with four LFO's cause that is Kermits main purpose. But preset mode with editing en...

Re: Double Andore - Do you have 2 mk1s or 1 mk1 and 1mk2 and WHY?

Thanks Leverkusen! Exactly the kind of feedback I'm looking for! Great, I am glad that it's helpful. Or is it the way cross modulation is implemented differently on the MK2? The MKII has an attenuator to dial in the amount of cross mod, while on the MKI it is just on or off. You can work around tha...

Re: Double Andore - Do you have 2 mk1s or 1 mk1 and 1mk2 and WHY?

I had both, sold the MKII cause it did not fit my needs at some crucial points and kept the MKI because I really like its character and grittiness. My personal grips with the MKII were that I found it hard to get the shape and end length of the envelopes just right to my liking and got along way bet...

Re: EFG build issues

Thank you Tony, for the support! What I already tried last night was (apart from desoldering those two caps) exchanging the V2164 (from Coolaudio) with a new one, checking every single part in the filter section and replacing D9. I also tried replacing U4. Voltage at U6 pin 1 goes from 2.2 to 0.0 wh...

Re: HERTZ DONUT MARK III - shipping now!

Hm, updating the DA MKi was quite an adventure and I had similiar error messages. But this one worked flawless. What OS are you using and what MPLAB version? I never tried pasting I have to admit but just pick the right processor from the drop down menue.

EFG build issues

Hi there, I just completed an EFG (board 6, simple version) and it basically seems to work, just not quite right. What does work is, that an audio signal gets boosted as I would expect and I can grab it from the PRE OUT. Also a CV signal that is somehow related to the audio amplitude is emmited at C...

Re: Piston Honda MKIII dual morphing wavetable oscillator

I guess a mulitple and parallel use two audio interface channels would do it. On the Hertz Donut I use monome teletype to delay the trigger before it goes to the envelope. At 15 ms the lag is gone and I get a nice and clean attack. Great sounds - unfortunately not in sync with the rest of the rack a...

Re: Piston Honda MKII

The Tap Tempo input sets the frequency of the LFO in Kermit's MKII Tap Tempo mode (combined with the devide settings but there is a bugin it right now) and each channels v/oct input resets the wave then with control over the reset point by the phase control. Reset modes works the same but without lo...

Re: Piston Honda MKII

I guess it's the little differences. I mean for LFO duties the MKII does offer more variations than Kermit does for example. I got a HD MKII after having the MKI and MKIII for a while because the sound is nearer to the MKIII which I like and differs a lot from the MKI but also it does not have the p...

Re: Kermit mk III - coming soon

Sorry, just started taking note of this module; how is it for oscillator duties? The manual mentions that it is "useful from 16Hz to 1Khz". Is 1Khz the top of the range for the oscillator? How's the tracking? Any other things to look out for? The demo by Mr. Robotopsy upthread sounds absolutely fan...

Re: din sync gilbert kit any good?

I just had a look at the ebay add - gilbert is definetely not a "roland tb 303 DIY" thing and it is not meant to be. That's really misleading. Also for that price you might even find a used one.

Re: din sync gilbert kit any good?

It does sound great, like a lovely 80's Roland SH incarnation but a lot of people had issues with parameter ranges on the sliders and the sample & hold circuit. Some of the issues have been fixed by community afford. Take a look at the DinSync forum fo more details, as far as I remember choosing the...

Re: Piston Honda MKIII dual morphing wavetable oscillator

I've measured 7 milliseconds of latency in 1v/oct CV updating, as compared to a Dixie: Screenshot 2020-07-03 at 2.34.22 PM.png closer to 8 milliseconds on the Hertz Donut MkIII. really hope this can be fixed through firmware. Re: Kermit mk III - coming soon

I just had another look at the tempoLFO, wondering why this never struck to me before and it seems that the strange reset behaviour only occures when a constant clock is plugged into the tap jack. If I plug the cable out after the BPM are detected or youse the tap button instead global and channel d...

Re: Is There A Linear Sequencer for Euro?

It's surprising to me that the term "linear sequencing" is not understood. In Cubase, Cakewalk, and many others, you can record a MIDI track just as you would an audio track. In modular of course you would be recording a stream of CV's (in a linear fashion) instead of step entering them one by one....

Re: Piston Honda MKIII dual morphing wavetable oscillator

Yes, I was using the Double Andore II in that test. Though not with super fast (zero) attack times to avoid clicks too. One would thinkt they should work together. It might be then that lag is the better word for the issue than slew. As far as I understood it was introduced in the MKIII line by a lo...
