Re: Standalone preamp that can boost instrument/line to eurorack level?

What VCAs are in your system? Some (most/all) VCAs add gain as part of the circuit. So at say, 2 o'clock and you're at unity, pass that and you will boost.

Do you have a mixer/patchbay set up? If yes, you can obviously use the board.

Re: Semi-modular west coast synth?

The 0-Coast is a wonderful instrument and perhaps you should consider the 0-Ctrl to add to the experience. Hardware there are lots of choices. Get yourself another complex VCO, a pair of cycling envelopes and a lowpass gate. Don't overlook Doepfer for some of these if you go eurorack. I would t over...

Re: Behringer Neutron Alternative Panel [POLL]

Anselmi's design was not mine — just to be clear. I think it's actually confusing to adjust the proposed design and place in the thread. I would prefer I make amends and share. As far as the designs I am working on, I was updating the first post and keeping previous versions for posterity. I can mak...

Re: Behringer Neutron Alternative Panel [POLL]

Thanks all — really great feedback. I had started making adjustments based on a lot of what was said. Thanks @ Dave Peck — I've made it clearer (I think) and did understand what you meant prior. I think it was a language preference but in my head I knew what it was doing... and that would defeat the...

Re: Behringer Neutron Alternative Panel [POLL]

Some of the added text seems a bit odd. For example: ADSR2 says "default to invert out". Control signals do not go TO an OUT. They go to an input, and come from an output. The adsr 2 on the neutron is normalled to the invert out in the patch bay. So with nothing patched into the invert you can acce...

Behringer Neutron Alternative Panel [POLL]

Hey all. Been a while since I've made an alternative panel for something and the Neutron is a fantastic candidate. Yes, there's overlays out there, but I'm talking metal that is so thin it can essentially be an overlay. I did this with MATHS way back when, and wanted to get a sense of interest for t...

Re: Roland TR8S questions

Certainly not the answer you're looking for (don't have a TR8S), but if you want to send triggers from a chasing x0x, why not just get a Beatstep Pro? Doesn't generate a tone, but there are plenty of kick drum modules and would be significantly cheaper. When I had the MD, I used it to do what you do...

Some of the best records were (probably) made with less. It's not about what you think you need to have, but what you can do with what you have. Good luck in finding out what works for you.

Equation Composer Sample Kits [Free Samples]

I posted this on my IG, but wanted to share here... I had recently made a huge 20gb+ drive of samples for an old friend who recently got back into music production via an akai mpc one. Part of that sample pack was a bunch of stuff recorded from the modular. The Equation Composer is a treasure trove ...

Re: Cables help

I use the colors to identify voices in my patch... This is an approach I have also been considering as an alternate to color per function — which is why I prefer cables that come in multiple colors and in various lengths. If you can only get a red cable in size XXX, what good is that when you're sy...

Re: Cables help

i just updated my cables to reflect color per function, broken into 4 categories: audio, cv, clocks, gates. i purchased all the cables from CONTROL in BK and I love their cables. They are all around thin, flexible yet firm and are offered at good prices. ( All my stackcables are on the chopping bloc...

I can attest to feeling the same way when i had a cwejman centric system. i actually feel like my Deepmind12 yields similar results for me in regards to things sounding musical. they are robust - especially with curve selection.

it's a feeling more than anything.

Congrats on finishing all this music and getting it out there. Respect :sb:
