They had blocked the street off by Pandoras Box so they could jam. Pioneering, groundbreaking. I have their...

etc.

SST and no one else.

No idea about Gregs rig (pretty sure he would stomp on something) , but saw Chuck break strings on a bass... twice.

the patching is so weird and slow that it's less of an instrument of music and more of an instrument of science, hah.
Same could be said about flute, sax or bassoon keying. Weird. Slow.

I bet someone like papz or ersatzplanet could patch quite quickly and effectively.
Exactly the same.

Unpatching happy for the next best thing and realizing I did not record the great patches I just had patched.

Thanks! I had looked into the generate 3 a while ago, but forgot about it, I will take another look. Also, how do you see the STO among the other options (spectrum, mangrove, or foundation). It is also high on my list, but I am not sure what would be the best fit for my rack. Funny you mention the ...

I don't feel they are close to worth the money, but they are a unique 'organic' or 'systemic' instrument. Each is somewhat unique and the interaction between every patch pin can be a novel dive. It's a different take on what most are used to. Very strong sound for sure. Unique.

Some of the odd or standard I use are: WMD Crucible is a strange processor (and as intended great percussion voice) w/ a lot of cv ins Makenoise ModeMod (hard to find these days and needs some boosting at the ins) DSI modular DSM 03 Feedback module (processor and 'voice') Harvestman Malgorithm (with...

With a vca, you’ve essentially built a whole second voice. Can’t go wrong with that. I’d do an envelope generator at the same time if you can swing it.
Maybe something like a Iron Curtain/Harvestman Polivoks VCA/ADSR or WMD Javelin. There are likely a few other combined units.

Re: Arturia MicroFreak

I bought one (original in black) during a Labor Day sale and it arrived today. Impressions: -- To me it does not really feel like using Plaits-in-a-keyboard overall, despite recognizable oscillator algorithms. (Some more so than others I suppose.) It feels like its own weird little thing. -- The gr...

Can we get a run down of the rigs too? Even a little explanation as to how you came to the specifics and how you use them? I posted this thread as a wet dream of usage and it seems to finally be coming to fruition. I just love to see how different types of musicians use the various gear for differen...

Re: What new booty did you buy?

After a year of depression induced by scouring the web for the fabled Nord Drum 2, i finally accepted I would never find one and probably shouldn't pay the price they tend to go for these days, and resolved to just get the damned 3p. Even if it was dumbed down and lacked the trigger ins....as a dru...

Re: How do you use cross fading?

I like patching a feedback loop so that the output of the crossfader goes into something else (wave shaper, filter, etc) and is then patched to channel A of a crossfader and B is the normal signal-- so as you move toward A the feedback becomes intense and can crowd out/replace the original signal. ...

The serge ncom, it gives you cv control over the division rate. That is a great one. I really like the Sub on the STO and liked the one on the Analog Solutions VCOSub too. Yes, they are that fat. You sweet a saw wave with the FS and you wouldn't believe how good it sounds. It's not a Moog sound, it's got a sound all it's own, and it shines in HP mode too. BP isn't really interesting to me, but the other two are very powerful. The Jove can get some crushing sounds on ...
