Re: Aggregate OS X limit and stability

BEAP might have the best integration in ableton live .. but not far behind from reaktor blocks and vcv a distant third. but they all have their strengths.

right but other elements of the design can change how fast the CPU is able to operate (bus speeds, storage, weakest link, etc).

Re: transitioning to Apple silicon

i bought a last gen macbook pro a couple weeks after they announced the m1s, mostly because my old one was dying and i need to keep working. stability is also key for me with live shows etc. so dont want to experiment. this mbp is such an upgrade that it should hold me over the 2 or 3 years for when...

Re: Repairing/Maintaining old synth (Yamaha CS-5)

thanks for the reply - im basing this on the service manual -

i know capacitors are usual suspects in decaying machines but this seems to be a pretty simple circuit path - what do you think?

Re: Repairing/Maintaining old synth (Yamaha CS-5)

the pics in the flickr page above are very helpful - thanks!

the main issue with mine is only setting of the feet knob sends a readable signal (not noise) to the oscillator. my guess is the resistors are old and dead - any other opinions on this?

Re: Repairing/Maintaining old synth (Yamaha CS-5)

wondering how the OP ever made out with this - just picked up a CS-5 for very cheap. it is in good shape, just dirty pots and what im thinking are dead resistors.. also thinking to do the repairs myself but just checking here first for other experiences..
